Vehicle Detail
Hello and thank you for viewing my auction. This is a no-reserve auction starting at $0.99 for a 1993 Geo Metro base model. This car is a manual transmission with five speeds and it has an efficient 3-cylinder 1.0 liter motor. It is a hatchback with two passenger doors and weighs a light 1800 lbs. It has a tank volume of 10.6 gallons and rear window defrost. This car has three gas mileage modifications from stock. First, it has an XFi camshaft which lowers the torque curve and allows you to shift sooner. Second, it has a 3.79 transmission from a 1.3 Suzuki Swift which lowers the final drive ratio. Third, 13" wheels effectively make the final drive 3.52. I recently drove this car across the country on a month-long camping road-trip and it averaged 42.6 MPG. That's not bad considering the amount of off-roading and that we always drove at the maximum highway speed. Before the trip I had a new water pump, timing belt, clutch, tires, and muffler installed. I also removed the back seat to increase cargo space and lighten the car further. My last several tanks have been in the 46 MPG range because I still tend to drive in the sixties on the highway and sometimes even faster. On a tank with a self-imposed limit of 55 MPH I found that mileage jumped up to 49 MPG. On tanks where I do a lot of city driving it falls into the 43 MPG range. This auction includes my collection of tools and roadside equipment. Tarp, sun visor, American Map road atlas, Duralast socket and ratchet set, gas container, Valvoline 5w-30 motor oil, Super Tech antifreeze/coolant, WD-40, all-purpose grease, funnels, tire-pressure gauge, soldering iron, clamps, Duralast alternator belt, glue gun, wire stripper/cutter, pliers, wrench, ice scraper, torque wrench, floor jack, and spare battery. There is a spare tire in a hidden compartment below the trunk. The frame horns were filled and reinforced with steel then rubberized with professional grade undercoating to prevent rust.
