Vehicle Detail
1964 K-Code Mercury Comet Caliente, black plate California car which was sold after the owner passed away. It was a California car until April-May of 2012 and off the road for a few years. I have the original owner’s manual with the warranty card, the original dealer invoice, the black plates (see picture) and some other paperwork, all neat stuff. I have not looked for a build sheet, but the interior appears to be all original so it could be there, I don’t know. It needs some work such as two upper ball joints (included), a new master cylinder (included is a dual master cylinder kit) and the power steering cylinder boot (included). I have a picture of the parts. When I got it the gas tank smelled like varnish so I rebuilt the Autolite 4100 carburetor, gave it a full tune up, put in some premium gas and gas treatment and drove it around the block a couple times, but now I can't keep running I think the plugs are fouled and the coil needs to be replaced because the oil leaked out of it. My best guess is the bad gas has to work it's way out. Included with the car is a Holley carburetor with a Ford part number stamped in the air horn it's; C4AF9510 EH List 3113. I think it is a 600CFM for a big Ford or Mercury. I installed a new radiator, fuel pump, upgraded to an alternator using a one wire module this way the harness didn't have to be cut and modified (a rebuilt generator and all hardware is included), battery tray and hood hinge springs. The body is nice as this is a dry southern California car that needs TLC. There are headers installed and they really fit nice retaining all the factory linkages. The car sits a little high as the rear leafs have an extra leaf added. I had spoke to the deceased owners daughter and she claims the car was family owner since new. All the glass is tinted factory Carlite glass. The car is a very solid starting point and not a rusted pile of junk. It is currently registered in my name (NY State only titles cars from 1973 and newer). There are no liens and is clear for transfer. I require a $500 non refundable deposit within 24 hrs of the auctions end via PAY PAL. The balance is to be paid by cashiers check and must clear before the car is released. If you have any question please feel free to ask. This car is 50 yrs. old this year!!!! and is being sold as is where is and there is absolutely no warranty or guarantee expressed or implied.
