I am selling my Peugeot 505 diesel. It has been my daily driver for many years. I love it, but it's time for it to go to an owner who appreciates its Gallic panache. On the positive side: Engine has 30,000 miles since it was rebuilt and got a new cylinder head. New front struts within the last 5,000 miles. Spin-on fuel filter. Rebuilt injection pump and injectors within the last 10,000 miles. Anyone who knows these cars knows how beautifully they ride and handle. Pretty good fuel economy with 27-28 mpg around town. The steering is still very precise. The tires are at least 50% good. On the negative side: Needs a paint job, leather upholstery dry and cracked at places. Starts immediately, but smokes and runs rough until it warms up. Radiator has sprung a small leak. Missing anti-sway bar in front, although many of these cars in Africa did not have sway bars: softens the ride, but it leans more in corners. It has a salvage title, but has not been in an accident. It was sold to a wrecking yard in Sacramento, so the only title available to me when I bought it from them as a whole car was a salvage title. The A/C does not work, although it could be reconnected. The sunroof mechanism does not work, but can be opened manually.
