Vehicle Detail

1970 Volvo 142S. Car is complete, and would make an exceptional parts car, restoration candidate, or classic beater with little effort. Car was originally purchased in Toronto, Canada in 1970 by my great aunt. After her death 15 years ago it went to my uncle, and he finally called my bluff on my offer of "if you ever want to get rid of that Volvo, let me know." It made the drive from Canada to Florida last year, but I've come to a point where I realize I have too many projects on the docket and need to simplify. So the Volvo is moving on to greener pastures where it can get the love it deserves. Overall it's in rather decent shape. It's only got 54000 miles on the clock, but it was a Canada car for most of its life so its got some rough spots. The floor had some rust and was "fixed" with some sheet metal and seam sealer. It's safe, but it sure ain't pretty. A complete restoration would require some floorpans, but as a beach car or a beater I wouldn't sweat it too much. The finicky SU carbs have been replaced with a Weber DGV kit, and the brake booster has been replaced with a rebuilt unit. The interior is decent—there's a small age crack in the dash, but the dash is completely original—right down to the factory radio. The missing trim pieces you see are currently in the trunk in good condition. There's some tough-to-find and valuable parts that will come with the car, including a pair of rebuilt rear calipers, which can be tricky to track down. Also included are a pair of rebuilt front calipers, a rebuilt master cylinder, and some new brake pads. The brakes are currently off the car as I was planning on running new hard lines. I WILL NOT SEPARATE any of the parts from the car. If you just want the rear calipers, bid on the car and if you win you get the calipers in a lovely Volvo-Shaped box. More than anything I need the space for another stupid project. Car is being offered as-is, where-is with no reserve. High bid takes it. Car is located in Palm Coast, Florida (midway between Daytona Beach and St. Augustine). Easy access from I-95. Winning bidder will supply a deposit via PayPal within 24 hours of auction close of roughly 20% of winning bid (rounded to the nearest sensible number). Balance due in case at pickup. Thanks for bidding. I'll do my best to answer any questions you have as quickly as possible. Car has a clean Florida title. On Feb-15-13 at 20:26:27 PST, seller added the following information: EDIT: Just wanted to reiterate a couple of things that I'm getting questions on: 1. Car is currently titled in my name with a clean Florida title. I'm actually touching it right now. It was brought in from Canada, but it's a good American citizen now. 2. Car will need to leave on a trailer as brakes are not currently installed. The hardlines are in place from the MC to the main junctions, but new lines will need to be run from there as the originals were junk. And the calipers are still in their boxes in the trunk (including the very hard-to-find rebuilt Girling rear calipers).
