Vehicle Detail

In 12/1977 this Lotus Espirit was brought forth in to this world. I have had this vehicle since 9/2008 and have worked on it here and there since. The engine does turn via starter ; Moreover, all cylinders give compression & would run if placed into the right hands. The Oil has been in this since who knows what year before I had it,& was golden brown, & still is. Engine turns with ease & Gears shift through smoothy. Full systems service required on this car for it to run and/or to be safe &/or legal. There is no fluid in brake system, as it has been that way since i've had it, nor is there and fluid or ability of use of clutch for lack of fluid also. Interior is not mounted fully, wholly, & reenforced; seats aren't bolted down, & dash is dot fully mounted for easy access when doing wiring. Carpet and headiner still removable, as I was planning on later installing and using an easy wiring kit & manual guages for this car, but just wanted to first see how it was going to look. I knew the engine pushes compression on all four, so my mindframe was that, whatever I did to this vehicle in terms of looks was worth it, because the engine looks promising & the Transmission shifts through all gears nicely. The paint is not perfect, blemeshes here & there, but still very pleasing to onlookers. Doors could use some adjustment, left door latch is faulty, does not latch fully 100% of the time, & does not have mechanism to connect outer door handle. Left door opens only from interior, Right door opens only from exterior. front lid does not latch, though latches are there, just didnt get to them yet. Rear hatch needs hydraulic assemblies to operate properly. Left rear rim is bent (has never had issue holding air), I assume it is from mishap incurred by previous owner donuting'. no window switches or steering shaft cover. Windshield, 2 side windows, & interior engine bay window, are plexiglass, mainly to keep the elements and creatures out. Exterior engine bay windows are oem. Dunlop tires (4) are in new condition with the hairs to prove it. Gas Tanks could use repair, Carbs need service/rebuild. Distributor is present. Starter is strong. Lotus needs to get into the right hands to become what it could be. Car needs TLC as I was planning on doing. Extra parts included in sale (pictured). Main Lotus Espirit foundation is present & in decent shape for a 35 year old car This car attracts alot of attention, just as any Ferrari of this era still would. While transporting from one place to another there are lots of looks & people asking questions, " What kind of car is it?" "How much?" well here it is folks!!! up for grabs on ebay. I have never had a title for this car, nor can I provide a title for this vehicle. The furthest I have gotten in the process of obtaining one is that I took the Lotus to Texas DoT & it passed inspection from theft detective to ensure its legality & legitimacy. A Title could be obtained for this vehicle by following steps of obtaining vehicle title in your state. Vehicle Listing only states clear title because there is no better option for my case scenario. Serial tag # (77 12 589 h) & engine block # (B74 01 5309) This car is my beloved personal project & I hate having to sell it, but life changes make for due dilligence. Vehicle sold as/is where/is, bidder is responsible to arrange inspection & responsible for pick up.On Feb-08-13 at 08:27:12 PST, seller added the following information: REVISION: based on research done after receiving helpful info from fellow ebayers, This car turns out to be the last of S1 models that came with s2 speed wheels. It is said to be a rare model of S1.On Feb-08-13 at 19:42:59 PST, seller added the following information: I am being told repeatedly that this is the rare transition from S1 to S2, dubbed "S1.5." the 12/77 production date is consistent with given information. Hmmmmm......
