2005 PASSAT GLS WAGON TDI Here is the Passat wagon you have been searching for. The reflex silver exterior looks fantastic and is far above average for the year. This is a one owner car the was meticuliously maintained and lovingly cared for. The previous owner used the proper VW spec Motul oil on every oil change along with following all of the other scheduled services including brake fluid exchanges. He just had the original chained balance shaft module replaced with the new factory upgraded gear'ed module which is very important on these cars. Every Passat will have need this addressed around 100k miles and if not serious engine damage will occur, this is not just a routine timing belt replacement. At the same time it was converted to a gear drive a new timing belt service including water pump and tensioners was done, approximatelyat 100k miles. The car's torque converter started throwing a fault code earlier this year and VW directed him to install a VW re-man transmisson and convertor to remove any doubt of potential problems in the future. The 2 common issues on these cars has been taken care of to a cost of roughly $6k. It should be good for several 100k now with just routine maintenance. If you have never experienced a TDI Passat you are in for a treat, they are great cars. The 2.0L TDI makes very good power while just sipping fuel. These cars will get close to 40MPG out on the highway and mid 30's in town regularly. This is a true German built car unlike most VW's now days and it was designed to run the Autobahn, it's truly a pleasure to drive. Inside is very well equiped with leather (not pleather) heated seats, woodgrain trim, radio controls on the steering wheel, along with the standard GLS glass sunroof, A/M F/M stereo w/cassette and CD, power windows, central locks, tilt, cruise and rear defrost. It's sitiing on almost new Michelin Primacy MXV4's with factory alloy wheels(3 wheels do have light curb rash). Included are the original owners books and one key fob. This is a really nice car that I would say is one of the nicest Passat wagons I've owned We just put new front and rear brakes on it(pads and rotors) along with new cabin and engine air filters. If you are looking for a safe, full sized car that gets exceptional fuel mileage this is it, you don't have to cram yourself into a hybrid or electric powered over priced tin can, you can drive in style in a high quality German built premium wagon.
