This is my 1985 Mercedes 280GE that I bought in Germany and brought back to the U.S. last April. I brought this G home to South Florida and registered it with no problems. It has a clear Florida title and current registration so it can easily be transferred to another state. This G has a few options not found on many of the G wagons here in the U.S. It has a custom welded front bumper with a Warn winch. It has very rare rear "barn doors." This means that the spare tire is mounted on a separate swing out holder so the rear doors are easier to open without a heavy spare mounted to it. The truck has an Eibach lift kit on it so it is a couple inches higher for even better off roading. The front seats are Recaro seats from a Mercedes SLK. The front brakes have been upgraded to w463 G500 brakes for better braking. The taillights have also been upgraded to newer style G-wagon taillights. This G also has the optional front locking differential so if only one tire has grip you can engage the front and rear lockers from the driver's seat and get out of anything. There is a dent in the left rear around the left rear taillight that has started to rust. There are a few rust spots on the G as well, but the chassis is free of rust as this G went through a frame off restoration several years ago and the frame was cleaned and undercoated.
