Video at bottom. Up for sale is a 1998 Jeep Cherokee Classic 4x4 with the unstoppable 4.0L engine. I'll start off with the good stuff. The car runs and drives like it just drove off the lot, and has always been owned by older people and has never been abused. The 4x4 works good and the car has not seen any abuse. The vehicle looks great underneath. There is no rust that I could see on the bottom. The exhaust still looks pretty new, and I believe it is the factory welded exhaust if that tells you anything. Generally the first rust you see is the exhaust pipes on a cherokee. Vehicle leaks no oil or any other fluids. The bad: hood latch is broken and the hood is sprung which is why the hood sits a little open in the pictures. The rear hatch shocks don't hold up the hatch, but they almost do. I believe only one of them is bad. The body has a lot of small dings, and a few larger dents. The front bumper and front fenders are the worst, see pictures.. The front bumper got caught on a pole when backing out of a space, and then was pulled back in with another jeep. The paint is flaking. The front passenger window has a bad regulator so it's always up, and the door card is off for that reason. I can put it back on, or leave it off, it's up to you. The interior is a bit dirty, but the only noticeable tear is on the side of the drivers seat. The gears in the shifter are plastic, and are worn out. This makes it so the car sometimes needs to be started in neutral. The headliner sags and needs to be removed or replaced.The A/C compressor still kicks on fine, but hasn't been charged since i owned it, so it would need to be charged. I don't believe the tires will pass inspection, however if you are an out of state buyer, you don't have to pass inspection for 1 year. At this time, the car is not a looker, but has plenty of potential, and is worth the investment. If you want a very reliable 4x4 with low miles and lots of life left for a reasonable price, then this is for you. It's hard to find a 98' 4x4 cherokee for this price that runs like this. I currently don't have the money to fix the mentioned issues, which is why I am selling it. It is a great daily driver, just the way it sits. I would encourage any potential bidders to come out and drive it for a few minutes. There is no reason this car couldn't be driven home. ($100) ----$150 if you want me to fix the latch as well.I can have the whole interior shampooed for somewhere between $60 and $100 at a local car wash.If the vehicle is to be towed home, I will sell and have a tow bar hooked up so all you have to do is drop it on your hitch and hook up the chains for $100. I have a set of tires with less than 3,000 miles on my other jeep that were $780 and I will put those on it for $400.
