You are viewing a gorgeous 1978 Jaguar XJ6L Very well sorted out and serves as a great daily driver. One of the finest driving cars I’ve driven, and I’ve had a few cars over the years. This car drives effortlessly. Soft ride like a Cadillac, but with European handling & breaking. This is a great car for the collector or serves as a great investment car, and was my original intentions all along. I spent much time finding this specimen as most were converted to Chevy or were non-runners. If you do your research you’ll only find a few original ones of these out there, and usually in the 14k range in showroom condition. These are starting to climb in price and guaranteed to grow in value. Looking to sell and hopefully acquire an MKII 3.8 . Reserve is set very low and should be met relatively easy. Pros · Very original, this is NOT a conversion Jag with Chevy motor. · Rust free car. · Clean CA title in hand. · Excellent dash, and center console · Gauges all work · All lights work, even the light in the glove box. · Heater works, AC unknown · Brand new tires · Brakes are new and rock hard, stops perfectly, and will break at high speed in a perfectly straight line. · Very smooth driving, and quiet even on rough roads, and straight as an arrow on the highways. · Body lines match up nicely · Chrome is outstanding, inside and out. · Original spare and jack included. · All power windows, power locks work. · Transmission shifts into all gears smoothly · No unusual noises · Does not smoke on startup or after it’s been running · Even compression across all cylinders · Starts instantly, and idles great, even after sitting for a while. · No leaks, or at least none that have made it onto my driveway. · Very cool running with no overheating issues. Cons · Clear coat is peeling, mostly hood and trunk. · Front and rear seats are very worn, needs headliner. Everything else is in amazing condition. With a seat kit and re-spray, this car would be absolutely amazing in and out. No piddling with electrics, mechanics, or restoring every little detail, or having to re-chrome necessary. On Feb-07-13 at 21:24:41 PST, seller added the following information: Car shows 30k miles, not 130k There is only a 5 digit odometer. So to clarify I’m not sure what the actual millage is. Never paid much attention to it. Could be 30k or 130 or even 930k Looking at the gas, and brake pedal among a few of other key instruments, for example, blinkers and nobs, they look virtually unworn. Would not surprise me if this could be a low milage car. But I’ll let you decide. Unfortunately, the car was too old to pull a carfax on.
