Vehicle Detail
This is a vintage, classic, collectible, 1979 Datsun 620 series "BULLETSIDE" pick up truck. I am selling for someone else but have access to the truck for questions. This truck is in very good condition for it's age, 34 years. It has 109k miles on it. I am selling for someone who got the truck in an estate settlement a few years back. It sat for a few years before that. The new owner got it running again and drove it for a while, then decided to have it tuned up because it was backfiring.. The guy that did the work messed with the carb. and the truck didn't run right after that. That was two years ago. I have since taken it to an old Datsun mechanic and had the carburator fixed. It now runs great as I took it out on the freeway and it had no problem running at 65-70MPH, but I think it still needs an anti-backfire valve, since it still backfires once in a while. It had bad/old gas in it and have since had to change the gas filter twice and seems to have cured the problem of dirt getting into the carburator, but I don't know for sure, it may need more attention. The back window is one that opens. The original radio plate is there but not the radio. Someone had duct taped a radio on the console, funny, but it works so I left it there. It has a heavy-duty bumper on the back with a hitch ball. There is one dent on the right front fender by the side light other wise, all of the lines match up and the doors shut with a gentle click. The owner was eager to get this listed so I have not even washed the truck yet. You will be getting a truck that is a lot cleaner than these pictures show, as I am still cleaning it up. The paint is pretty good but dull, needs to be rubbed out. I will be trying to shine it a bit. There is surface rust on the floor but just that, surface rust, floor is very strong. There is a couple of small places on the bed where surface rust is starting, but nothing rotten. The dash is cracked, of course, but has a 1/2 dash-mat on it. All of the lights, heater, wipers work. It will need new wiper blades, and the battery is almost shot. It needs an interior light bulb. When I drove it I did not hear any rattles and the suspension seemed very tight. The tires are ok and there is a spare with an original jack, jack rod, but no handle. The original rubber floor mats are good but the driver's side has a small hole in it. It has the original air pump still hooked up but I think I heard a squeak out of it the last time I started the truck. It needs a new pre-heat hose,( exhaust manifold to air cleaner) one comes with it but is ragged. This truck has a 4 speed manual transmission, I have a good 5 speed manual transmission that fits this truck. I will include it for an extra $200.00 over winning bid, or $300.00 by itself. I think/hope I have described the truck well. I believe this car is a nice original truck that would be a great easy start for someone who want to restore and little old classic Datsun truck in this economy. There is no warranty or guarantee implied, this truck is sold AS IS, NO RETURNS. There is NO reserve price, high bid gets it. All shipping details need to be handled by the high bidder. I can store the car for a while and help load on a trailer. Please look close at the pictures and email me with any questions before bidding. I can email better/more pictures if needed. I reserve the right to end auction as it is advertised locally as well, unless already bid on. $500.00 non-refundable deposit due via PayPal within 24 hours, balance due within 7 working days of the end of the auction or truck will be relisted. Thank you for looking and please take time to view my other odd collectibles I have for sale on eBay. baha classic nissan antique project hot rod rat rod ute original toyota vw honda On Feb-01-13 at 11:26:35 PST, seller added the following information: Friday 11:24A.M.. I just drove the truck again and it died again. I cleaned the screen filter and the needle valve in the carb. and it started right up again. I put another new fuel filter on it but I think there is more gunk in the tank from sitting for so long. The gas tank may have to be cleaned. If this is a deal-breaker for the one person that has already bid, I understand and have no problem with you retracting your bid.On Feb-03-13 at 14:07:47 PST, seller added the following information: Hello again and good luck to your team! I have just posted 7 new pictures of the truck after detailing it. It came out very nice for a couple of amateurs if I do say. The paint rubs out fairly easily. Also the drivers seat belt did not retract so I have another one that matches that either will be with it or on it, if I have time...
