Vehicle Detail
Rare 250cc factory Trials bike. Legal in mono shock Ahrma competition. Clean California title in my name with current green sticker. I have original lights wiring harness/switch and original rear light. Headlight is new reproduction. Lights are not fitted at present. Scratches on side engine cases and front fender and alloy gas tank Decals are damaged a tad on one side.No dents. Rear fender is complete and tidy. The seat is even original and in really good shape, no rips or loose seams. Starts first kick each time with correct procedure. Runs as good as new. Exhaust is perfect, no rot. Spark arrestor is perfect, no rot. Bike is mostly all original a true survivor. Never painted or modified. Only the handle bars are not original and they are period replacement. Paint rubbed by boots on side frame and airbox. This bike has never been touched up, it is all original paint. Wheels are true and clean. All spokes are clean and tight. Trials tires are good like new. Brakes are adjusted and work well. Chain is good and adjusted. Engine oil is newish. Bike frame is straight, no rust and paint is good. All alloy and steel parts are in good shape, no corrosion. Bike shows wear consistent with Trials use. Hasn't been used in competition for almost ten years. Just a garden bike and show and tell. I would have got a California street plate if I would have had a speedo! Put a speedo on and you MAY get a license plate in your state. It's not a 17 digit vin so the possibility is good. I don't have the all elusive side covers, I wish I did. A bad restore would ruin this bike, it needs to be left alone, they are only original once. Yes, it's got the patina of age and use, but it's authentic. Original TL's are getting hard to come by, 250's are almost impossible to find. It's pretty rare and unusual to find one that is in original condition. The pictures tell the story. I can take more pics by request. There is nothing to hide. It's an honest, original, used Trials bike. With a little fettling you will have a competitive bike in it's class and can give you loads of fun. If you are looking for a pristine bike this is not it. It's scratched and rubbed. But it is loved and cared for. I'm from the UK, we used to call this type of machine 'oily rag clean'. That means we don't over paint rubs or scratches, we wipe the bike with an oil rag and it just stays nice, no rust. Every nut and bolt is original and in good shape, not like new, just in good condition to use over and over. You are welcome to come and ride the bike around my half acre garden (I have for five years). I'll do whatever it takes to help deliver, at your cost. I don't want anyone to be disappointed so please ask questions BEFORE bidding, and please don't expect a pristine bike, look at the pictures, ask questions. I'll give honest answers to the best of my ability. In the coming years this bike will appreciate there is no doubt about that. I bought my first used 1974 TL in 1981 for $150!
