1983 Jeep Scrambler CJ-8 Laredo I bought this Scrambler as an incomplete project. I had it finished to be my summer time, daily driver. It has worked very well for me, for that purpose. Life is taking our family a different direction now, so I must sell at a loss. I have much more invested than the sale price listed, so my loss will be your gain. The 4x4 works as it should and the engine runs great. I had them install a good used T5 transmission because I wanted the 5 speed for my daily driver. Shifts wonderfully. It receives attention wherever I take it. The color is a deep red called GARNET RED EFFECT. OEM style decals also turned out great. The cosmetic work turned out so nice, that we had it in a local parade last summer. Highlights include:· Less than 1500 miles since the majority of the project was completed in 2012. · Only 5405 Scramblers built in 1983. · Extremely Rare Laredo edition with leather grab bar, Chrome grill, wheels, trim, factory working Clock and Tach. · Highly desirable wide track axles.· Fiberglass body professionally prepped and painted · 258 straight six cylinder (Runs great, so I did not have it rebuilt. Previous owner said it was rebuilt. I believe it was, but can not guarantee it.) · T5 transmission & Dana 300 transfer case · Dana 30 & AMC 20 axles · Comes with half hard top (Seperate full or half soft top, rear seat & A/C unit available to buyer for seperate purchase.) · Frame professionally cleaned, reinforced and undercoated · Fresh high quality professional paint (Garnet Red Effect) · New OEM style decals · Fresh spray in bed liner in bed, top, and interior floor · All new door & window seals and new Cowl seal · New door handles and inner panels · New OEM style emblems · Bumpers, Receiver hitch, & spare tire carrier sand blasted and powder coated· New Sony radio / CD player with remote-- Too many new parts to list -- Issues that I am aware of:Wipers stopped working when I installed the radio.Fuel gauge does not work.Fuel seep at neck if you over-fill it.Hard doors have all new seals, which are still stiff, so the doors usually do not latch easily.Seats are in good condition except a small tear in each of the lowers.Please understand that this is NOT an auction to look at my Jeep, it is an auction to purchase it.If it is NOT as I've described, I will refund the purchase price MINUS $500 deposit.
