i have a 1957 convertible bug its in pretty good shape for its age and being a convertible bug its a matching numbers car meaning the body number matches the pan number , the splitcase trans is correct to car as well as the front beam , the trans looks to be good but i havent tested it , it rolls fine and gos threw gears , has all the stock breaks on it but they dont work need new rubber lines and im sure wheel cylenders, the ebrake does work tho and good, it rolls and steers fine, 2 tires have a slow leak so will have to refill every few days,there is no motor in it when i got it it was missing the pan has some rust under the battery area but other then that its solid and original , the heater channels have some rust up front looks worse then it is, support rails are pretty good they do have some little holes tho ,also theres some rust on the rear crossmeber area of body under seat not bad tho i have a section to fix this area cut from another 57 bug. if need more picts feel free to email the body is pretty straight overall the fenders have some good dings and little stress cracks but they are all og 57 fenders, there workable ,the hood is the correct 4 tab style but it has seen better days its pretty dinged up and has had the commom stress crack on hood but it has been welded but not grinded down , its missing the decklid but they do make reproduction ones now for a few hundred only glass i have for the bug is a repop windsheild, it has the wing window frames but no glass, has one door reg for window and both rear regs for rear windows , no rear window but i do have a 58 rear window if interested has the correct original bumpers and running boards , has a nice steering wheel and colum blinker switch needs housing and wheel needs horn button, dash has been cut for a cd player or something its missing base of ash tray but i have the face and inner part , all the seats are correct to the car , top frame opns and closes very smoothly , i do have the top latches and catches for it in very nice shape they hard to get , also comes with a set of old repop decklid vents to weld into a sedan w decklid to make a convertible one. the pedals in car are the right ones but at one point someone had them chromed kinda cool, has a nice gas tank but no cap if you have any other questions or want other pictures email and those bidding make sure its what you want before bidding you can come see the car in oakley 94561 before aution ends if you wanna check out further thanks
