Vehicle Detail

Hello, up for sale is a very nice 1964 Pontiac Catalina four door hardtop. The most exceptional part of this car is the interior. Aside from one small rip in the front seat on the drivers side it is near perfect. This car was stored in a well maintained barn from 1978 until 2010 so its exposure to sunlight was minimal. The car is very complete and the trunk still has its original lining, jack, and spare. The chrome on this car is very nice and the body is very straight. The only rust through I have found on this car is the small rusty spots at the bottoms of the front fenders. This car has had a lot of work done to it. Here are some of the good things that have been done to this car: new tires, all lights work, new radiator, distributor cap, rotor, points, condenser, coil, ignition wires, new master cylinder, wheel cylinders, and hoses, gas tank boiled and new sending unit, new starter, new battery, new water pump and more. This car has quite a bit of original paperwork in the glove box including service records, owners manuals, and even the original vin plates, which are usually long gone. The major thing wrong with this car is that the transmission needs work. It makes a noise that sounds like a bad bearing when it is under load and it lurches when you try to accelerate. I have told this problem to a few mechanics and they all seem to think it needs the torque converter replaced. It shifts well and goes through all the gears but it just doesn't pull like it should and it makes that bad bearing noise, which I have been told is a bad thrust bearing on the torque converter. Otherwise the car is very solid and very clean and it truly is a Kansas barn find. A non-refundable Paypal deposit of $500 is due at the end of the auction from the winning bidder and the rest must be paid upon pickup. The car must be picked up in McPherson, Kansas by the new owner. I have a clear Kansas title for this car and besides the transmission repair, this car really doesn't need much to be an awesome cruiser. Sitting in this car is almost like sitting in a new car. Don't miss out on the chance to own this super clean classic! Thanks for looking!
