Vehicle Detail
For sale is a 1970 Dodge Challenger with a 440 RB, but was originally a 318 car. Car is an automatic with a 727 transmission and 8.75 rearend with 4:10 Richmond. Engine has a Mopar M-1 intake with 750 Holley carb and Mopar Performance valve covers. Car also has unfinished fiberglass R/T hood and 16 inch American Racing Hopster wheels.Console, dash, and door panels in great condition, needs roof liner and carpet. Do not have original front seats, but back seat is original. Car has a few dents and dings, but nothing major. Originally was Burnt Orange color with black vinyl top, now is black in color. Car also comes with Lokar kickdown cable and Cheetah manual valvebody, one of which needs installed. Runs very strong, overall a solid Mopar with tons of potential, just needs a good home. This car has been in my family since the early 1990s, but I do not have the time or money to devote to the car and I must sell. Low Reserve and Low Buy it Now price for a Challenger. This car is sold as-is, no warranty implied or offered. The balance of the auction is due in full within seven days of the end of the auction. Balance must be paid with Postal money order, certified check, cashiers check, or cash. All funds must clear bank prior to release of the car. On Dec-31-12 at 12:15:22 PST, seller added the following information:I have had many questions about rust. The car has some pinholes in the trunk which is tyoical of these cars. It also has a small area below the windshield on the driverside. The car is all original sheetmetal, not full of bondo, not a rebuild. It has been stored in a garage until 6 years ago and under a carport since then. It is not a showcar, but it could be in the right hands with money to finish. Any questions about the car will be answered promptly, so feel free to ask, also feel free to come check out the car. Email me in advance. On Jan-01-13 at 06:39:40 PST, seller added the following information:I have also had some questions regarding the engine. It is a low mileage 440rb, the block is from the 60s, A few years and very few miles ago I had the motor(which had remained the same for 15 years)and had it refreshed with many new parts. It has new model heads that were taken to a head shop who installed hardened valve seals and did some work to the heads, but they were still in great shape. A RE-RING kit was installed. The car has a aftermarket cam, im not sure on specs, but compression is 10.5:1. New Mopar M-1 intake and new Holley 750 were added, alond with new Mopar valve covers. New wiring harness from YearOne. Transmission was rebuilt around the same time of the engine work and had a shift kit and mild stall included in the rebuild. The kickdown must be installed to drive for a long distance or to run engine for a long time. Without the kickdown installed damage to the transmission may occur. A manual valvebody eliminates the need for the kickdown, but is not intended for steetuse. Both the Kickdown and Manual valvbody are included with the car.
