This is a vintage, classic, collectible, 1970 DATSUN 521 series (before the 620 series) PICKUP. It is a good running/driving truck with a strong 1600 OHC engine with new spark plug wires, clutch and clutch master cylinder, belt, hoses. I am selling this for a friend who loves the truck but doesn't have to money to finish it. He says he has over $1200 in it. It needs the stock front bumper and front apron to fix the front. It has a professional heavy-duty easy lift hitch in the rear attached to the frame, complete with stinger and a 2 inch chrome ball, wired for a 4 prong system. There is some surface rust here and there but NO ROT! It was stored for years in a shed and taken out in 2011, back on the road. The seat needs work. It needs a shift boot, the horns are there but need to be hooked up, the heater fan doesn't come on with the switch, and there is a defroster hose unattached. The original floor mat has holes in it and needs replaced. It looks like the truck was originally tan but someone spray-painted it white. It has decent tires, original wheels and hubcaps. The wipers, turn signals, and lights all work. Not wrecked as the lines of the cab and bed line up. Dash is cracked and needs a new pad. Body/tailgate/roof have some dings and scratches that are normal with a 42 year old truck. Should be an easy restoration. Odometer says 54,000 miles so it could be that or 154,000 miles on the truck. THIS Just added: the truck has an aftermarket ignition switch, he told me he had the original somewhere and just brought it to me. The switch works fine, it was replaced by a back-yard mechanic that was replacing parts to diagnose a problem. I believe this car is a nice original truck that would be a great easy start for someone who want to restore and little old classic Datsun truck in this economy. I can store the car for a while and help load on a trailer or drive it a short distance as it is still legally tagged. . After test driving this truck, I noticed the charging light did not come on when the key was turned. I replaced the bulb and it came on but did not go off when it started up. I just put a working alternator on it but the light stays on so there is another problem with the charging system as it DOES NOT WORK NOW. If this effects the bidders who have already bid, I have no problem with them retracting their bids.
