Vehicle Detail
1963 giulia spyder this is one of three spyders I have had for about 20 years now. This car was modified 25years ago by its original owner. I have original bill of sale and books and records to the point of modification. The car was refitted with components from a 1750 gtv including motor with dual webers and electronic ignition, the transmission , the rear end , all four wheel disc brakes and the gauges from the GTV. He also fitted an RX7 brake booster in the trunk and a kill switch for the battery. The car was last operated by me in 1995 , it was very fast and stopped on a dime ,lots of fun!! My plan which I never got around to was to vintage race the car and restore the others to original. Time flys and so does my current focus a 1974 ferrari gt4. Karl the original owner at the time of the mechanical refit, also replaced the rocker outers and repainted the car. Karl fiber-glassed the trunk pan and the floor pan and they appear sound . He also did some very odd work on the under side , he shop formed galvanized metal parts to fit the frame rails and screwed them on, a totally useless endevour! The car needs rockers and control arm connection points as well some of the out riggers and the pan may need work. the body above the trim line is in great shape no signs of collision or much rust except the rear wheel arches. I have numerous original parts as well many new parts that may be discussed but are not included in the auction. I will be sorting out pallets and boxes of parts from 4 spyders , one of which the body has been scrapped. I will be deciding what to sell and what to build, but the winner of this auction will be offered desired parts foer a price , prior to further auctions ie; bumpers and eye browse and original drive train components if the new owner wishes to restore to original. My plan for this car 20 years ago was to race prep it and pop in a 4 point cage , fuel cell and do a rough rocker repair for a track car. This car has been stored inside for the last 20 years but cancer had already set into the rockers ect typical to these cars. While lifting the car with my fork lift the passenger side door gap remained consistent while the drivers side moved about 1/4" or so from its sitting position to its lifted position. So the car has body sag and will need repairs! The body above the trim line of the rockers appears to be on great shape. Note the oddity again by Karl , he has vents in the fenders and has made an air ram from the hood scoop to the carbs. The rag top is shot , but the frame is great. I was going to steal the rear end from this car and unbolted the drive shaft and removed the shocks . The exhaust is off mid way to the back. If i can find it its ( it is custom stainless flex pipe) included with the shocks less the bolts . Karl told me it was a low mileage gtv that was wrecked for the donor car.
