1969 Chevy Camaro Z11 Pace Car Excellent Driver Quality Car #'s match 396/350hp car Freshly rebuilt engine! For sale by owner: 1969 Chevy Camaro RS/SS Z11 Pace Car, #'s match 396 350hp Casting #3955272, julian date code B18 9, April 9, 1969. engine pad T0409KA, which denotates, a 350 hp manual trans HD clutch. The partial engine VIN #'s match by the oil filter housing. The car has a last week of April build date. The previous owner had his local Chevy dealer instal a turbo 400 in lieu of the Muncie so his wife could drive the car. They did a nice job, replacing the crossmember as well as installing a correct 69 auto shifter. The rear end is the original 12 bolt posi. One exhaust manifold has the wrong date code, as well as the intake manifold is not correctly dated. The starter, alternator and carb are all original to the car. I just installed a Concourse Gardner repro exhaust. Sounds great. The car was a enduro front bumper, power steering, pdb, (obviously) and rosewood trim. top is manual. We've owned this car for 6 years, and it sat most of those 6 years, the tires are a little dryrotted...but the car runs great. Motor has just freshened, 400 trans shifts fine. All lights, guages work. All RS headlight parts are in place. The car had full quarters installed at some point. The paint is at least 15 years old and was high quality, but has some touched up chips and such. The floors and front and rear subframes are mint, trunk is nice. Top is good but needs cleaning. The interior is nice with no cracks in dash, ect. I have a complete new repro interior I'll be installing this week, including seat upholstery and carpet. The console is in nice shape. 2 points! 1. NO I DO NOT HAVE THE MUNCIE 4 Speed!2. No, the car has no POP or build sheet, but it IS the original engine, and it IS a legit car. How do I know this? This car had not been touched in YEARS before I got it...nobody would restamp a engine in the 80's...made no sense...big block springs, heater core...and tach...thats how.
