Up for sale is my 1987 LT500R quadracer. I bought this last fall, semi rebuilt it over the winter, and rode less than a handful of times this summer. I took all the plastics off to clean and go through everything, but did not take the bike completely apart. The engine was supposed to be fresh when I bought it. I saw receipts from HVMotorsports here in the hudson valley for the work that was done. Again it is an 87 with the good 87 cylinder that has been trail ported and the top end was done. The engine was completely disassembled and checked, but only needed a freshening. I replaced the front and rear light assembly, ignition switch that was missing, all the plastics, new factory graphics, new ITP aluminum rims and rear tires, front hubs and bearings, front brake master and handle from a z400, and a new pipe. The previous owner had the stock pipe with a FMF rear section that did not fit together at all, so it was either buy the stock rear section, or the FMF front section. I really just tried to bring it back to semi stock appearing and make it a nice usable machine. This thing is a blast to ride; I am selling because I don't have any other friends with sport quads and I don't like riding alone. There are a few things it could use to be even nicer that I never got to. If I were going to keep it I would replace the steering shaft and it could also use a kick starter. As most of these older kick start quads do, this one has some play from years of starting. The steering shaft has been repaired in the past and I would just feel better if it were replaced. I think they are about $90 and still available NOS. No other issues that I am aware of. Runs great and is very fast. I run it on a 50/50 mix of 93 and VP110 with motul oil. On Dec-29-12 at 13:17:33 PST, seller added the following information: Forgot to mention that the quad also comes with another set of steal rear wheels with tires, and a spare set of used rear plastics. Not broken, but ugly. I will also give you whatever 110 premix I have left for it, so bring an empty gas can.
