Vehicle Detail
The car is a 1957 Porsche Speedster replica, VIN Number 6060083.. All info is what I have been told or observed and is believed to be accurate. Yes, that's a wing on the back deck lid. It's a unique car and requires only some final work and TLC. If you have any doubts or issues with this auction, I urge you to have a third party inspect the vehicle. It's for your protection and my feedback score. I want the buyer to be completely satisfied with no surprises upon delivery. I have all of the paperwork for the car. The car is registered as a 1964 Volkswagen Speedster. Due to the registration year, yearly smog inspection is not required. The car was insured by Allstate. I have a clear title. The car has been sitting since about 2006. The car is not operational. The problem was that gas was leaking into the oil sump. I have had the problem 'guestimated' as leakage from carburettors that need a complete rebuild. The engine is supposedly an 1800CC unit and it had quite a bit of power, when the car ran. The car has wide wheels and tires and the handling is outstanding. The car has a roll bar installed. The car has an electric fuel pump. The car has dual 36mm Weber carbs, one on each side. I did not pull the drums to look at brakes but it did stop well when it ran. The clutch worked well as did the four speed gears, plus reverse. The car has a tonneau cover and a car cover, included. The original FiberFab manual for the body also comes with the car. The car has a complete set of VDO gauges installed. The electrical system worked and the lights all worked.. This was not built by a shop, It's obviously a personal build. The floor pan and all of the undercarriage look good. There appear to be no issues. The finish appears to be just the fiberglass gelcoat. The appearance is good, with a couple of minor blemishes that should buff out and a gouge that has been estimated at $120 for fiberglass repair.. The wheels are chrome and in very good condition. The exhaust is a four outlet system with good exhaust tips. The interior is not installed, but I have all of the new interior pieces needed to finish it. The doors open and close solid as well as the front and rear deck lids. Both deck lids have interior cables to release them. The top is not installed, but all of the pieces seem to be there. I have bumpers for the car, but they're not installed. The car is generally in very good shape. However, it will need to be hauled not driven. If you buy this car and have to get it transported, keep in mind that it will need to be manually loaded, either winched or pushed. I bought the car intending to build it myself, but things kept coming up. I'm now moving and must get rid of the car. The reserve on the car is well less than I believe it to be worth so bid with confidence. Judging by comparables, you can buy this car, make your own changes and still come out way ahead. It's a unique car. I must sell the car. The car is sold as is. Payment: Deposit of US $500.00 with PayPal within 48 hours of auction close. Full payment in the form of a certified check or cash USD for the balance required within 7 days of auction close. Shipping Buyer responsible for vehicle pick-up or shipping.
