Vehicle Detail

Last of the tailfins! Car has not been repainted nor had any body work done. 4-door, 6 cylinder, 3-on-the-tree ... "Cascade Green with Ermine-White" top ... this is a daily driver ... car was trailered north from Tennessee ... as you can see in the pictures, the fenders and rocker panels are completely solid ... NO RUST THROUGH on fenders or rockers, above headlights or on quarter panels! This car's steel is like an old battleship. Asking price is $400 less than I paid in May 2010 - - not to mention the cost of going down to Memphis and getting a U-Haul ... since then I've invested $1500-$2000 (keep finding more stuff all the time): the brake system was completely done including dual master cylinder, proportioning valve, lines, wheel cylinders, shoes, hardware, turned drums ... the floor wells were rusty so I bought 4 steel pans from Ecklers and had them welded in (a very neat job) ... had the 1-speed windshied wiper motor rebuilt ... new gas tank ... heater core sent to radiator shop ... sent the carb to a guy in Wyoming for rebuild ... of course belts and hoses ... photo shows mini air-cleaner but big clunky oil-bath Chev air cleaner is in the trunk. All gauges work ... original radio, but does not come on ... manual steering, brakes are drum & shoes ... car shifts through the gears fine. Trunk has had fiberglassing and is dry ... seat belts were installed. We knew this was not an Impala, not a 2-door, not a v-8. Those features would be nice but jack a car price up high as you know. This was a father-son project and a daily driver. It's interesting: even though this is a 4-door, this car has a great look from the side with the "swept-back" styling, sort of a Batmobile look, long and low. People at stop lights always smile and point. We are selling this now while the December weather is mild; someone could possibly drive this from Omaha as we have no snow right now and temps in the 40's. The interior: as mentioned, NEW FLOOR. You know what that costs ... the seats are green vinyl with cloth inserts; the inserts are shot ... we do have a new carpet that is not installed ... new speedo cable & gear; odometer works ... the headliner is shreds and needs to be replaced ... windshield has a crack ... if you have upholstery skills or a connection to someone who does, this car could be a very nice purchase. Here's one of those situations where one collector's loss can be your gain, if you are able to make a move at the right time ... no funny stuff, no shady deals (see my Feedback) ... whoever gets this car is getting a very straight, solid vehicle. Come and get it before someone beats you to it or the weather turns nasty. Thanks for looking.
