Vehicle Detail
I am officially out of storage space and am selling my 1973 BMW Bavaria, that I had planned on keeping forever. As you can see it's the original blue, and I believe it's had a repaint at one time in it's life. The previous owner was a BMW mechanic, and installed a 1985 BMW 3.5 liter engine along with it's 5-speed transmission. This makes driving her a pleasure, and it has plenty of power to enjoy her. Under the hood, it appears very original, along with the original Air conditioning set up. It's all there, and the fans work, but I have never tried to charge it or anything. I bought the car around 2007, and started replacing everything that didn't appear in great shape. Below is a list of some of the items that were replaced in my ownership.1. New Bosch performance Dist, with electronic conversion.2. All new Bosch ignition parts, Cap, rotor, coil, plugs, and wires.3. New Dual Weber carbs, with electric choke. New, not rebuilt.4. Full tune up, and carb sync. 5. New BMW fuel pump.6. All new fuel hoses, and filter.7. New Power steering pump by ZF, new filter, and fluid flush.8. All new cooling hoses, new coolant tank, BMW coolant, thermostat. (Copper Radiator was flushed by Rad shop)9. New Brake hydraulic system- New ATE Master Cylinder, stainless steel brake hoses, ATE blue fluid, new clutch cylinder, new clutch lines, and new fluid reservoir. (Brakes are in great shape, as are rotors)10. New Sach Clutch kit, with pressure plate, throwout bearing, clutch, and only a few hundred miles on it. Perfect and quiet clutch action!11. Driveshaft was sent out and balanced, new center bearing, new flex disc. 12. Transmission shift linkage was rebushed, and a short shifter was installed. New 5 speed shift knob.13. New front suspension. Upper and lower control arms,Idler Arm, tie rods, struts up front, new mounts, stabilizer bushings and links. Center steering arm.14. New rear shocks, and stabilizer bushings and links.15. New driveshaft boots on one side. 16. Battery is from 200817. New ignition switch, and lock cylinder with new keys. 18. New trunk lock with new keys. 19. New door cylinders and matching keys to the ignition.20. New Wiper/turn signal switch.21. Wheels refinished, new center emblems.22. New Wheel bearings in front.23. New rear trailing arm bushings.24. New BMW NOS rear tail light housings, lenses, and seals, body seals. 25 NOS locking fuel cap. 26. Newer CD player, and power antenna, although the antenna is not working now?27. New tires on all corners when I did the suspension and brake work.28. New higher Amp Alternator (Bosch)29. New Bosch starter from the M3, which is smaller, lighter, and much stronger. You can hear the engine spins faster.RECEIPTS FOR EVERYTHING!! As you can see, I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars on this car, as I never planned on selling it. I replace parts rather than wait for a break down. This is a great road car, and I have taken her on 1000 mile round trips without issue. The car never overheats, or even gets close to running warmer than stock. Interior- Very good shape, although seats are a little flat and there is one split on the drivers seat. The rear seat is perfect. Dash is in great shape, although it has 3 small lines in it. Headliner is original and has a few slits in it. All seat belts work, including a NEW drivers side seat belt, as the old one would not retract. Exterior- This is the only thing needed on this car. Needs new paint. There are areas on the roof and hood that chipped off and surface rust is forming. Needs to be sanded down and primer applied. The underside is rust free, probably from it being garaged and living in California. This car does NOT have a sunroof, just one thing less to worry about in my opinion. Driving experience- Car starts all the time with the twist of the key. When the car sits for longer than a few weeks, it takes longer cranking to spring to life. (Same as on my 2002 I had) I'm sure I have forgotten something, but please send me a message if you have any questions. I am no stranger to selling cars on eBay, I have sold a few in my years here. I'm still in contact with them as well, as we kind of became friends. I am very close to the Ontario International Airport in California. So, if you were to be out of town, I could pick you up. Whatever I can do to make the transaction easier for you.Thank you for looking!
