Vehicle Detail
This 1926 Coupe is in very good mechanical condition with a partial enine restoration performed just before I bought it 4 years ago. The engine starts quickly, (electrically or with crank), idles smoothly, runs fine, and stays cool. Rotating the crank shows the compression in all cylinders to be good. It runs very well on the magneto. Recently, I installed Ron Patterson rebuilt coils. It has a fairly new radiator that, during a recent parade, kept the temperature in the normal range during a 45 minute parade driven at walking speed. The transmission shifts fine and has Kevlar bands. It was adjusted so well that there is no creep in neutral. The interior was reupholstered with original style fabric just before I bought the car and it still looks nice. At the same time, a new roof was installed. All glass is good with no cracks or fogging. Several upgrades have been performed: 6 volt voltage regulator (looks exactly like an original cutout), external front oil line, and an easily removable rear light bar containing turn signals and improved stop lights. An original speedometer is installed, but there is currently no cable between the wheel sending unit and the indicator on the dash. When I bought the car, the seller told me that "It's a good old T that is mechanically sound, but just needs a paint job." After rubbing it out, I see no reason to paint it although there are a few repaired stone chips and small paint cracks. There is only minor surface rust on the underside and no plastic filler that I can find even using a magnet. Although certainly not top show quality, it was good enough to be displayed at the Hilton Head Concours Car Shows in 2009 and 2010. It is way too good to be cut up and turned into a hotrod. I routinely drive it at least twice a month. There are many spare parts, tools, and manuals included. I am only selling because I have a "bucket list" of a dozen cars that I wished I had owned and didn't. Storage keeps me from owning all at once so I am buying them sequentially. This Model T was #5 and it is time for me to move on. This has been the most fun collector car that I have owned. I will miss it. If interested in more info/photos or wish to see it, please call 843-384-0545 or use the ebay "Contact Seller" messaging. Of course, there is no warranty - it is sold "as is." I strongly urge you to inspect it before bidding, but, as one who has bought 5 cars on ebay sight unseen, I know that isn't always possible. Please ask questions and request more photos, if necessary. Non-refundable $500 deposit needed 24 hrs after auction closes and rest of payment within 7 days. Paypal is OK for deposit. The rest should be cash (in person), certified check, or wire transfer. Check must clear before car will be released. Shipping is your responsibility but I will coordinate with your shipper and help ease the transfer.
