Vehicle Detail
Looking for a GOOD HOME! 1968 Ford Mustang, runs good, looks bad! Have had this car since 1987 and have enjoyed every spring/summer/fall with it and it is difficult to part with it. Hardly original; engine and drive train are from a 1971 Torino (so I was told when I bought it). Odometer mileage is 38972, but put a 1 in front of that, as I bought it with around 80K. Color should be lime green metallic, but the car was painted in a hurry to make it more saleable...hence the rust from under the paint. AM radio, heat, defroster, power roof...all work. Just passed MA inspection and only the emergency brake is a little suspect - needs to be tightened, but still good enough! Windshield washer does not squirt on windshield, but onto your foot (left side pump pedal). The cowl leaks (common Mustang issue) but is serviceable with the cowl cover. One small rip in the roof, piece of wood fell from rafter of garage, see photo. Rear window needs to be replaced or somehow cleaned as you cannot see out of it at all. Interior/seats can use some work, as much of the seat stuffing has been removed by mice, and the carpet is torn and very faded. Note too, that the passenger side carpet is still damp with antifreeze from the heater core bursting a year ago (was replaced, all is well now). New tires, brakes, master cylinder and wheel bearings in September 2010. Some trim missing around the front end of car. Underside of car is solid, not pretty, but patched many times prior to my purchase. Has bondo in rear quarters as most cars of this vintage do. It is far from perfect, but the car is pretty solid! Don't really want to sell, but must..this car needs a lot of love, and I no longer have winter storage, nor the time and skill to fix it up. It needs a good home!
