Vehicle Detail

1981 Chevy C-10 short bed pickup truck Truck is being sold as a roller (No engine...No transmission). The truck is set up for a small block Chevy [had a 350 in it]. Would make a nice hunting truck. All the lights and electrical work as they should. The truck has a current VA State Inspection sticker good until January 2013. **FULL DISCLOSURE** I noticed the ebay VIN autocheck tool listed potential title and odometer issues [potential odometer rollback] but there are no issues with the title. It is a clean and clear VA title. As anyone knows with older vehicles...DUH the odometer rolls over at 99,999. I *PRESUME* one or two of the past owners titled the vehicle with the ACTUAL odometer miles shown on the dash [which would explain how it went from 97k miles to 15k miles]. Looks like the odometer rolled over once and previous owners titled it as such. Here are the details on the Truck: Body - Body and bed are pretty rust free. There are a few rust spots on the wheel wells on the driver and passenger side wheel wells but not bad like you normally see on this model truck (see pics). - Missing front grill section. -Little rust in the drivers side mirror. - There are a few soft spots in the drivers and passenger front floor boards that ar rusty. Probably about a 6" x 6" section on each side that needs to be cut out and new metal welded in. Very easy fix...probably an hour cutting, fabing, and welding. -These trucks are infamous for rusty rockers and cab corners. The rockers are SOLID!!!!! Engine/Driveline - NO ENGINE....NO TRANS. I removed the driveline so all of the necessarry wiring connections for the gauges, starter, alternator, and what not are intact and ready for reconnection on motor install. The wiring loom has not been butchered like ive seen on prior trucks i've bought. If you buy this truck and stab a motor...it WILL NOT be a guessing game as to what goes where connection wise. The drive shaft, transmission crossmember, shift linkage are all there [disconnected and in the truck bed] and ready to be reconnected. - The rear end is an open rear end. I do not know the gear set. Extras & Goodies - The previous owner installed a line lock system for the front brakes. The switch for the line lock is under the dash. I never tested it to see if it worked, but the solinoid and connections are intact, plumbed to the brake system so I assume they work as they should. - Previous owner replaced the stock guages (temp, voltage, oil pressure) with sunco gauges in the dash cluster. Not a hack job and look fairly descent (installation wise). - Truck has a tape player radio and door speakers. I did not test to see if these work but they are there. - Set of long tube headers removed from the engine [in truck bed] - Set of flowmaster 2.5" mufflers. There a tad bit rusty, but reusable. - The short bed is lined with a plastic bead liner. NOT...I repeat NOT Included in Sale - The wheels pictured are not included in the sale and have already been removed. A set of roller wheels are on the truck now. - The radiator and electric fan have already been removed and are not included in the sale. - The tachometer pictured has been removed and is not included in the sale. - The tool box pictured has already been removed and is not included in the sale. - The tailgate pictured has already been removed and is not included in the sale. Pictures align="left"> Shipping & Pickup Truck must be picked up by buyer in Sterling, Virginia. If you are within a 30 mile radius of Sterling, VA I can haul the truck to you for a fee. Any other shipping arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer. I would like the truck picked up as soon as possible after the end of the auction [prefferably at the time of payment]. Payment I will accept cash on pickup or credit card. Game players, Dreamers, and Scam Artists If you dont not have intentions on completing the deal...DO NOT BID If you have zero or less then 10 feedback, your bid will be rejected...DO NOT BID!!! If you need your wifes permission...DO NOT BID!!! If you have part of the money and are waiting to sell [insert random item here] to get the rest of the money...DO NOT BID!!! OTHER If the truck does not sell I will be parting the truck out in peices. So if the auction is not sucessfull and your in need of parts...send me an email after the auction ends with your needs and we can continue on that way. The bed, doors, hood, dash, sterling column, brake booster/master, glass, frame, and cab are all in great condition. I aint trying to get rich off this truck but I know what I can get in scrap value for the entire truck as is...I would rather see it live on then to crush it. The reserve on the truck is the approximate scrap value so that should remove the mystery of what the reserve is set at. For those not in the trade...steel is going at about $0.08 to $0.10 a pound...so do the math. I reserve the right to end the auction early as the truck is also listed for sale locally. Truck is being sold AS-IS...WHERE IS. Feel free to contact me at sef@averagejoesautos.com for questions or more information. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding... -Average Joe-
