===========RELISTED WITH LOWER RESERVE!!!============== Say hello to “Sophia”. She’s a beautiful and unique slice of pure American muscle with a big dose of attitude. Many advertisers use phrases like “one of a kind”, but this beauty is TRULY unique, as I’ll explain and document later. I am her second owner. Her first owner was a Ford Engineer, who had to draw a lottery number in early 2007 and wait for his number to come up, after which he ordered the car. When I bought her, she had only 1,900 miles and had been kept in a garage…on carpet, no less. I bought the car to drive (hence the current mileage), but about 80% of those have been highway miles. I drove the car from Denver to NC round trip in the summer of 2011 (what a blast!) and other than cruising around town, I typically drive her up to Cheyenne every month or so to see my kids. Here’s where the special part comes in. As you can see from the Certificate of Authenticity, she was #109 of 2070 Shelby GT500 convertibles built for 2008. Of those 2070, she was #3 of only 81 in Grabber Orange. The original owner ordered her with the GT500 Premium Trim Package (see window sticker). Ford doesn’t publish or maintain numbers as to which cars were built with which options (not that I can find), but as you can see from the picture of an email, the first owner confirmed through internal Ford channels that Sophia was only ONE OF SIX built with this combination for 2008. You can also see by comparing the price on the window sticker ($49,395) to the sale price on the title application ($59,395) that he had to pay $10k over sticker for the honor of ordering this baby. Okay, so we’re down to one of six in 2008. What makes her TRULY unique? Being a typical guy, 500 HP just wasn’t quite enough, so I made a few mild-to-moderate performance upgrades to make Sophia even more special (estimated HP is now 550-560): Phase IJLT Cold Air IntakeSCT Predator Custom Tune to account for intakeFlowmaster American Thunder axle backs (fairly aggressive, but not obnoxious) Phase II · Undersized Supercharger Pulley (2.60 versus stock 2.80 – added about 6 lbs of boost) · Idler Assembly (required for SC pulley change) · NGK Plugs matched to above mods · Another SCT Custom Tune for Phase II mods and 93 octane Phase III I have to admit…I hadn’t planned on this one, but after Phases I & II, I promptly destroyed the stock clutch. SO…I installed a SPEC clutch (SS-Trim Super Twin) with matching flywheel and a RAM adjustable hydraulic throwout bearing. Miss Sophia was now officially a UNIQUELY BAD GIRL!!! BRAND NEW Nitto NT555 Tires! SCT Predator (with two custome tunes loaded) included I’ve driven the car pretty hard occasionally (who wouldn’t?), but she has NEVER been abused, NEVER raced, NEVER put on a track and NEVER subjected to repetitive hard runs or successive burnouts. I’ve never had ANY mechanical problems. All the performance mods were professionally installed by a local hot rod shop that specializes in building, repairing and racing Mustangs (and any other muscle car for that matter).
