Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 1971 Ford LTD Convertible. The car is all original and complete. It has not been driven in about 14 years. It had one repaint back in the '80's. The car has no bondo or filler and is very solid. There are a couple of minor rust spots, but nothing bad at all. The floors and trunk are solid. The fuel tank needs to be cleaned out and I unhooked the line from the fuel pump, so no one would try to start the car and suck stale gas into the carb. The original 2 bbl. carb has been rebuilt and reinstalled. The car does start and run when gasoline is poured into the carb. The car shows 54,000 miles on the odometer, but it may be 154,000. I really think that 54,000 is correct. The interior is original black vinyl and cleaned up very well. The dash pad has a few cracks, the carpet is great for a daily driver, and the driver side of the seat bottom has a couple of real small holes in the vinyl, nothing bad. The convertible top is there, but needs to be replaced. Everything on the car works, including the Power Top and the original AM/FM radio. There are a couple of pieces of trim that are not on the car, but I do have them. The car has a 400/2 bbl. engine, factory dual exhaust, Automatic transmission, Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes, Air Conditioning, AM/FM radio, Windshield Washers, and Power Convertible Top. The brakes are still up and worked when we loaded and unloaded it from the car trailer, but I would recommend going through them. The paint is cracked and faded and would need to be repainted. A serious days work and you could drive this car. I have a clear Kentucky title in my name, when a buyer comes to pick the car up. The car would need to be trailered to it's new home. Ford only made a little over 6000 of these convertibles in 1971, so they are not very common. As cheap as the car is, it would make a great winter project and have it ready for top down cruising this coming Spring. Winning Bidder to pay $500.00, within 3 days, of auctions end. And the remaining balance due at auction end or cash at time of pick up. All pick up and delivery is the sole responsibilty of the buyer. The car is located in Northern Kentucky (I'm about an hour South of Cincinnati Ohio), about 15 minutes from I-75. There is no warranty with this car.
