Vehicle Detail
We bought this car in 2004 in Eastern Washington from the second owners Grandaughter, she said it was too big and she didn't feel comfortable driving it. We have driven it about 40,000 miles scince then. I will start by saying that this car is a well used car, used and somewhat abused I suppose, the grandaughter told us that the whole family piled in and went to the coast "all of the time", and when the air conditioner broke (still broke) Grandpa refused to have it fixed so they could finally cruz with all the windows down. We have used it as a driver for years (hardly any in the snow), went to a bunch of concerts all over in the thing, the car has great structural integrity, just a great big old car to drive, comfy and safe (4464 lbs), one thumb on the wheel bombing down gravel roads hardly feeling a bump. We are attempting to get rid of it mostly because we don't use it much anymore (got a Hudson) and I hate for cars to sit, the car is real road worthy though, I would get in it tomorrow and go anywhere. I don't know how many miles are actually on it as the Grandpa had died and there wasn't much paper, it seemed in pretty good shape with just average wear and tear, the odometer shows 67,000 now and I am sure it is at least 167,000 on the car, maybe 267 (?). For our 40,000 we had good mechanics service it every 3,000 miles and do whatever else it needed, I know that at some point we put a different 4 barrel carb on it (I think I still have the original) and just before it got to sitting quite a bit of this year we did $1200 worth of brake work and then new tires so they probably don't have several hundred miles on them. Like I said, the car is a quite used but ready to go cruzing machine, we took numerous long-ish trips in it, amazing what you can fit in the trunk. So now I will describe what I see and know. All doors and windows open and close as they should, windshield is cracked, all other windows are good, air conditioning stuff is there but not functioning, radio antenna is broken off, ash tray is removed and long gone, an instrument cluster is in its place (oil and temp), heater works but the original lever that let water in to the heater core must have broke so they replaced it with an ugly but functional under dash pull, occasionally the heater will blow out steam, it has done this for quite a while but only intermittently, we were always gonna look at it but didn't as we don't drive it much in the real cold, you can crank on the defrost and blow it out (has a rear blower too), sometimes after it is warmed up and you shut it off it is hard starting unless it sits for a while, it has always started though just tests your battery a bit, the battery that is in it is not the right one and it will probably need replaced soon, the second hole back on the passenger side occasionally fouls its sparkplug (easier to replace from underneath on a hoist), when you initially start the car after it has sat a while the transmission takes a bit to pump up and move the car, it doesn't so much do it in warmer weather or when driven daily and it has always worked fine once warm, water leaks in from somewhere and gets both front passenger and driver carpets wet when it rains, the trunk gets wet when it rains, carpet is gone back there and though the spare is not there in my picture I have it, normal wear and tear to the interior (heavier on the drivers side), my memory is that all of the lights are working, there might be a dash light or something out, I see no bubbling rust and only minor surface rust, there is an area on the drivers rear quarter that looks different colored so it might have had some body and paint done there. Not sure what else to say about it, I do want to emphasize again that this is a real used car, sits outside all the time, dirty inside and out, driven a lot on gravel and dirt roads, ready to roll. Fun! Sold "As-Is" with no reserve. Buyer pays shipping, the car can sit here however long it takes to get it (winter is coming though). We would like payment as soon as possible after auction end, we accept cashiers checks or money orders or you can wire. Thanks!
