Vehicle Detail

1970 Chevelle Super Sport CTX 396 350 HP M21 4 speed Hi everyone this car sold here on Ebay about 3 months ago for around 14k. My friend drove it around occasionally. It was a very strong running and driving car needing a restoration. My friend accepted payment for the car but before he could ship the car his home burnt with the car in it. The car is a Canadian built car and he had Canadian paperwork for it. The title was in his truck because he was going to send it off and did not burn. You can get another build sheet for it but it costs around 120 bucks. The car was as follows- code 17b Shadow Grey with Black top. 754 Black bucket seats-car had these options- L34 396-ZL1 Cowl hood-U14 Gauges-G80 posi trac(code on rear end is CCF) 4 Speed unknown if M20 or M21- it was a non air car- Other lesser options. I purchased what was left of the car from him yesterday. He advised me that the engine and trans where original to the car. I was going to put this on another body. He looked at the pad and saw the CTX and assumed it was original. It is correct in every way it even for another Canadian built SS but the last of the vin does not match. The trans is a M21 out of a 1970 Z28 vin on trans is 10N. After I found out I did not have a number matching engine I have decided to cut my losses. As you can see I have the title and vin plate which he removed form the car but is son scrapped the body and forgot to get the trim tag. Also included are things like the flywheel, power steering pump and things in the pics like all the nuts and bolts to the engine. The engine does turn over well and appears to have no damage, but i would put rings and bearings in it anyway. The carb is supposed to be the original. It was sitting on the work bench when the fire happened. The intake is missing also. The bell housing had a melted spot where the gas line broke and poured fuel on it, it was also thrown away. The exhaust and rear sway bar in the pics are not included I am going to use them on one of my other Chevelles. I have listed the title as clear but the insurance company did write a check for the car to my friend. The title never left my friend ownership. If this car does not sell I will part this car out, feel free to send emails for any parts you wish to purchase. Or you may call 765 206 0350 Steve I live 1 hour north of Indy. Of course this car has no guarantee of any kind. I have just added a pic of the car in the garage that burnt, taken by the previous owner with his phone that is why it is small. I have received calls concerning where to get a new build sheet. It in fact is not a build sheet but a certified letter of sorts from GM proving the options listed on the car when sold. here is where to get it. vintagevehicleservices.com NOTICE--NOTICE 11-5-12 I have had several phone calls concerning parting the car out. I am getting close to my actual goal of breaking even-yahoo! I have what I believe are legitimate offers on the engine and trans. I am only the rear end and frame away from parting it out, therefor contact me with your offers to purchase any items. This also serves notice that I may stop auction at any time. Thanks Steve 765-206-0350 Also the engine date is D-9-70. 854 block. As you can see the engine has the heads taken off for inspection as well as the pan. Everything looks very good. There is a serial number on the pad. It is very hard to read. It starts out 101 This part is correct for Canadian built SS 396 however the rest of the number is not a match. I started this at $3500 because it hard to get what you ask for. I am going to lower the price to $2200 if you can pay for it this week! The last pic was taken by the previous owner with his phone the body is in the scrap yard you get what is listed engine trans rear end frame vin title ect. no body.
