I am selling my beautiful 2001 S430.This car has been in my possession for the past 4 1/2 years and i have loved it every day.I bought it off ebay in May 2008 and picked it up in Birmingham, Alabama and drove it to Minneapolis where it was put in heated storage in the winter and driven in the Spring and Summer of 2009-2010. I moved to Palm Beach Florida in 2010 and i took it with me and it has been my daily driver since then. It has been a GREAT car for me. I have done several things to it. Here is the list 1. Anybody who knows anything about Mercedes knows that sooner or later the Airmatic system will fail and it is VERY expensive to fix. That is alot of the reason why people shy away from this car, because of that repair, and it happened to me last year. When the strut failed, i had the entire airmatic system replaced with a custom coil system by a professional Mercedes Benz technician. It GLIDES across the road, better than the airmatic system and you will NEVER need to worry about a strut or pump failing again. 2. I added an iPod charger/connector which plays through the stereo system 3. Windows have been professionally tinted 4. Upgraded the tail lights to the newer model lights. 5. Replaced the pads and rotors on all 4 wheels not that long ago 6. Replaced the rear tires about 5000 miles ago The car looks and runs great. It has a few tiny surface dots of rust and i mean tiny they havent even broken the paint. Everything mechanically works perfectly on the car. The air blows ICE cold and the heat is BOILING hot. The interior is FLAWLESS. It looks like it did when i rolled off the production line and im no exaggerating. The back seats have hardly ever been sat in and it shows, the front seats are in EXCELLENT condition and the dash is PERFECT. Aside from regular oil changes and replacing the struts and brakes, i haven't had to do anything to the car, it has run so well. I am so sorry to see her go, but i just bought a 2007 S550 and i will drive that for the next 5 years. I have treated this car like a baby. It will make somebody a very happy car owner.
