MPG = 64.4 (when I bought it at 31,000 miles, lifetime average was 50.8—is now 60.6); IMA battery replaced under warranty @ 65,781 miles; but now I have IMA and CK ENGINE lights and dealer says need to replace IMA battery + 1 computer for $3725; On-Line Forums say get Bumble Bee replacement battery (higher quality) for $2095 and install myself—forget the computer . I do not feel confident in my ability to do this, so am sadly parting with this little GAS MIZER. It is still drivable as it is, but ultimately when the battery fails completely, it won’t be. It is no cream puff, but is not “rough or junky looking” because it has been my daily driver for 7 years—WITH NO MECHANICAL PROBLEMS. Replaced front brake pads at around 90,000 miles; new spark plugs at 105,000 miles. Has had a couple of minor dings (repaired). Tires have about 30 – 40% left on them. I’ve used Mobil One 0W20 for the last 50,000 miles and change at 10,000 mile intervals. It is never down more than ½ way to Add line between changes. Someone who has the aptitude to deal with this battery problem can buy some VERY ECONOMICAL transportation—I bought the SERVICE and ELECTRICAL MANUALS when I bought the car, because I had a good friend who was an electronic wizard, and could have fixed this problem with no trouble, but he died a couple of years ago.
