Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a beautifully done, street tracker-style 1967 Triumph Bonneville. I bought the bike in 2002 through Yoshi at Garage Company in Los Angeles. The bike is registered in Georgia and tagged for road use as a 1967 Triumph T120R, VIN T120RDU61097. It has a large, flat track rear sprocket and a SLS front brake; it would make a great vintage flat track or TT bike with some of the street equipment removed. It has a UK-made 750cc MorGo big-bore kit (newly made cylinder barrell, pistons, rings, pins, etc), T140 cams and valve train, competition clutch, 32mm Mikuni carbs, Flanders pull-back bars, Barnett throttle and cables, Betor/Bultaco clamps and forks, 1 5/8" TT pipes, Bates-style leather solo seat and pillion pad, TR6 folding foot pegs, stock Dunlop steel wheels, Hagon shocks, Boyer electronic ignition, and basic lighting (head and tail/brake lights only, with brake light activated by rear brake only). The '67 Bonneville frame is uncut/unmodified and has been powdercoated. The fuel tank is a trackmaster-style fiberglass piece. Wiring is very tidy. This is a lotta bike at my reserve! The bike was just completed when I bought it ten years ago, and I have probably put 200-300 miles total on it since. I last ran it this spring for sound work on an upcoming David Chase (creator of The Sopranos) movie. The motor is a later Bonneville unit, with a production date of February 1971. With the 750cc kit and large rear sprocket, this bike is very quick. It can be a little finicky to start until you figure out the procedure. Compression ratio is a reasonable 9.5:1. Engine number: BE10782 T120R (Feb 1971 production, Bonneville) Frame number: T120RDU61097 (1967 Bonneville) Condition - The bike remains in very clean, ready-to-run condition, overall. Like most British bikes, it does like to mark its territory with oil deposits. On the front of the crankcase snout, near where it bolts into the chassis, there is a line on one half of the case that looks like a crack, but is not (see photos) and has been there since I purchased. It's an overlap/ledge from where the front ear on that side was rounded or repaired previously with additional material added. Although it hasn't been used much, the bike is 10 years on from when it was built up, so there are some marks here and there, some oxidized bolts, etc. Why I'm selling - This is a beautiful bike and gets a lot of compliments, but I hardly use it and need the space for other bikes and projects. This would make a fantastic basis for easy conversion to a vintage flat track or road racer. Otherwise, since the frame is not cut up, it could also be turned back into a stock-appearing '67 Bonneville, but with more oomph. Or just enjoy it for the fun bike that it is! Terms of sale: The bike does not come with a title as Georgia (like several other states) does not require them for vehicles of this age. ebay would not allow me to list the bike without a title, so I chose "clear" as a default. It is tagged and registered for the road in GA as a 1967 Triumph T120R, and the sale includes the current GA registration, as well as a detailed bill of sale. A bill of sale and the previous GA registration should be more than enough to register the bike for road use in your state, but make sure it can be done before bidding, if that's your intention. If you must have a title, there are many title services that can probably help. Mileage is not applicable as there is no odometer or speedo on this bike. No warranty is expressed or implied. I will not ship or crate the bike, but I will make myself available to meet with the shipper of your choice to hand over the bike. I may be able to deliver the bike within a reasonable distance of zip 10509, for gas money, but check with me first on that before bidding. Your bid is a committment to buy, not an option to buy, so please ask any questions before bidding. Inspections, by appointment, are welcome too. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time before its scheduled conclusion. The auction is for the Triumph motorcycle only; neither the Condor stand nor anything else in the photos is included. The bike does have a standard folding side stand but I chose to use the Condor for photos. Check my feedback and bid with confidence. Good luck!
