Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1966 Plymouth Fury III, 2 Door project. Has a cool green/white exterior. I recently acquired this Fury and was going to keep it to drive, making it into more of a racer looking Fury, but my wife says no more cars. It runs but the gasoline hose needs to be hooked up. I tested using a jar of gas under the hood. It ran good, no smoking. I had a mechanic adjust the idle and points. It did run kind of loud, maybe needs a new muffler. My mechanic also tested the transmission a little bit to make sure the gears weren't slipping. Now for the details: - has a 318 engine, numbers matching - automatic transmission which was a more expensive option at the time - air conditioning option, but needs work (at the least it needs freon) - replaced trunk pan, old one was rusted - there is a tiny leak on the right back passenger tire that needs to be fixed - nice glass, no cracks! - last good year of the slimmer body style - new battery installed - clear title - the Fury was already recently painted when I bought it, I don't know know how much or to what extent there might be some bondo work on the exterior - original headliner is in good condition, no tears that I could detect - the only surface rust I found is on the driver's side front fender, bottom in wheel well area - driver's side window is slightly off track and needs to be adjusted I put a seat cover on the front seat, but as shown in the pictures the front seat on the driver's side is pretty rough. The floor carpeting definitely needs to be replaced. Dash is rough, I'm not sure if all of the instruments are in good working condition or not. Rocker panel on driver's side needs to be attached. I also have the passenger rocker panel (see photo that shows extra window and chrome piece, gas pedal). Gas pedal needs to be attached. Driver's side door needs some work--the inside handle needs to be attached. I have both the inside and outside door handles. Passenger inside door looks pretty good, but armrest needs work. There was a tiny little hole on the body, back left area near the "Plymouth" decal, which is covered up by an "STP" decal that I added. I weatherized the other side of the hole, inside the trunk with 3M weather protector. Roof exterior looks like it has original white paint, but is marked and stained. Brake and headlights were tested and work, but I didn't end up testing the turn signals so I'm not sure if they are in good working condition or not. I suspect you'll want to restore this Fury to its original luster, so most things will be replaced? I've tried to list every detail, good and bad, that I can think of.
