Vehicle Detail
1949 Dodge Wayfarer Business Coupe – This car is mostly original with the exception of the cosmetics. As you can see the car has novelty lake pipes running down the sides, fender skirts added to the rear, tons of pin striping on the front, sides and rear, two tone paint, remote operated door poppers (need new springs to make them fire every time), shaved door handles, etc. The drive train is mostly original. This car has the original flathead 6, 230 ci, with fluid drive transmission and only 51,000 original miles! This is a 3 speed on the column car. The car runs great with no mechanical problems. I drive it regularly and have recently driven it to Charlotte NC and back (about 300 miles each way) with no problems! Cruised at 65mph the whole way! The car idles well in traffic and I’ve never had a problem with it overheating! It is lowered 2 inches in the rear to give it a more hotrod look and has straight pipes coming out the back (sounds great for a flathead 6). I recently put a CD player (with Ipod hookup) in the glove compartment to keep it out sight, running 2 6x9’s hidden behind the seat. Car has been converted to 12V. The trunk and floor pans are all solid! Gas tank replaced at some point (previous owner, and of course they didn’t hook the fuel gage up) so that’s good to go. The only rust spot that I’ve found on the car is at the bottom of the driver side door (see pics). It’s a small spot that you don’t even see from 10 feet. There are a few scratches here and there and of course a few rock spots on the front, but it’s a driver! There are some small dents in the top, but you only notice them if the light hits the roof right. There are some weather strips missing around the windows (the felt ones between the door and window) but these are readily available (just never got to it and didn’t really care). You’ll notice that in most of the pics the headlight bezels are red, however I just replaced them with brand new chrome ones (see pic). This is not a perfect show car, it’s a badass old school ride that won’t leave you stranded! Get in and go! This car gets attention every time I pull out of the driveway! Bid, Win and Drive this rod to your next local cruise in, bar, hell take it to the grocery store! I love this car and not stoked about selling it, but have to make some garage room. Shoot me a message if you have any questions. If you live close by, come check it out! Car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction if someone shows up with cash. I’ve done the best I can to describe the car as detailed as possible, the car is for sale as is, where is! No warranty! Payment is due in cash or via paypal within 7 days of auction end. I don’t have time to arrange shipping for you, so please plan on picking the car up or sending a driver. Good luck!
