Up for sale is a 1953 Chevy Truck, model 4100-a "Big Bolt with a 6 volt system.". The truck ran well 3 weeks ago but since then I removed the generator and battery in preparation for converting to 12 Volts. I severely ripped my shoulder so I am unable to work on the truck. To get it running the generator would have to be installed and it needs a new 6 volt battery. The truck is in great condition. A few small areas of surface rust on the floor and by the seam of the front fenders and rear of the cab-you have to be real close to see it. The interior is very good with working vacumn Windshield wipers and heater. The 4 speed tranny shifts well and the emergency brake works fine. The engine runs well but needs to be cleaned. The previous owner indicated the truck could be setup as a dump truck but needs the hydraulics. Tires hold air but I wouldnt recommend driving any distance with them. The bed is a unique item-used to haul coal. The cab and bed and floor are rock solid with NO rust thru. Cab corners are excellent. All gauges worked when vehicle was running. The horn is inoperative. I've driven the truck around town and its a great and fun ride. This truck needs very little work to get running. You would be hard pressed to find a truck like this in as good a condition. I have set the reserve fairly low because I need to pay some upcoming medical bills. My loss would be your gain. I also have a complete 235 in line six engine if interested. It came out of a running 1955 chevy truck. I had planned on replacing the 216 engine with it. It is complete with all components and can be had for an additional $400.00 .
