This is a rare, one owner, 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9L Limited ZJ. It has plenty of power, is very clean and is being sold with no reserve. The "5.9 Limited" was a Jeep Grand Cherokee produced only for the 1998 model year, having more luxury and performance than that of the regular Limited. Chrysler manufactured nearly a quarter million Grand Cherokees in 1998. Of those fewer than fifteen thousand were 5.9s. It housed a Magnum 5.9L V8 engine with an output of 245 HP and 345 lbft of torque, going from 0 to 60 in only 7.3 seconds. Motor Trend measured this at a slightly faster 6.8 seconds making it the quickest SUV available that year. The performance of the 1998 5.9L V8 has been surpassed by Jeep only with the introduction of the 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, which housed a 6.1L Hemi Engine. The 5.9 Jeep Grand Cherokee was named the 1998 four wheel drive vehicle of the year by Peterson's 4-Wheel & Off-Road Magazine. The 5.9 Limited was available only in Deep Slate, Stone White and Bright Platinum. Other features seperate the 5.9 from the standard Limited model such as: Functioning heat-extracting hood louvers, Revised grill with mesh grill inserts, Five spoke alloy Ultrastar wheels, Black wall tires, An improved premium 180 watt 10 speaker Infinity car audio/stereo system, A rear speaker bar for additional Infinity speakers, Calf-grain soft leather seats and trim, Leather door inserts, Leather shift handle e-brake and transfer case handle, Enhanced faux wood trim throughout additionally around the transmission shift handle base, A full leather spare tire cover with multiple pockets, a center leather armrest in the rear seat, A lower profile roof rack that eliminated squeaking problems found on the base 5.2L Limited, Molded rocker panels and a 140 MPH speedometer. The Grand Cherokee 5.9 further included additional performance enhancing features including: A stronger 46RE transmission than that of the 5.2, Quadratrac heavy duty NV249 transfer case, Standard trac-lock differential, An electric fan, A high output 150A alternator and a Lower restriction exhaust and chrome plated exhaust tip. The exterior is a glossy white. There are no major dings or dents. Other than a scrape on the molded rocker panel below the right rear door, you will have to look very hard to find any cosmetic issues. The lights and lenses are bright and clear. No chips or cracks on the windshield. There is a tow package. The tires, on alloy wheels, only have about 20% tread and should be replaced soon. The 5.9L V8 runs smoothly without a miss, smoke or fluid leak. The transmission shifts smoothly without hesitation. The 4 wheel drive works also. The brakes and suspension seem good. There is a slight noise in the rear, possibly the tires, and the power steering may need some attention but none of these issues will prevent the new buyer from driving it home, no matter where they live. The interior is a very plush black leather. The front seats are heated. The seats are in good condition. The driver seat only has surface cracks (see pic). The carpet is in good condition but there is a stain on the right rear floor (see pic). All the power options such as windows, seats, side mirrors, sunroof, etc. work as designed. The Infinity sound system with CD works great. The heat is hot and the AC is cold. The information center on the dash works also. This rare one owner vehicle is being sold by a Maryland Used Car Dealer.
