Vehicle Detail
Hello- Up for sale is my 1995 RX7. Current Mileage: 62,809 Color: Silver/Black. Transmission: Manual Location of Vehicle: Sidney, MT Number of owners: Est. 3, originally purchased in Kansas where it remained until I purchased it last spring. Clean Title: Yes History of Accidents: No known moving accidents. The car was caught last year in a strong hailstorm, causing damage to the roof, hood, and primarily the driver's side upper surfaces. The windshield was shattered, and the door boots were also damaged. The stereo does not function, I believe, due to some moisture exposure during the storm (front windshield). Maintenance: I purchased this RX7 last spring. The owner at that time had repainted the front hood, which was also heavily dented from the hailstorm, but had not yet painted the right front headlight cover, or the roof. Upon purchase, I had the vehicle inspected at the local Mazda dealership, with the request to repair/fix any problems they could find. They replaced a leaking oil gage, both window boots, and the front windshield. No other issues were identified. (receipt available). Modifications: This car is nearly stock to the best of my knowledge. It was subject to one recall, which was completed in 96' (replacement of one vacuum hose per Mazda). Modifications include: Nur (?) Catback, Fluidyne aluminum radiator. I believe they rerouted the AC, (which only works well on the highway). A keyless entry system and alarm has been added, and a very nice high performance clutch which is in excellent condition. Condition: Exterior: Bondo on the roof and front headlight cover. The sides and rear are in nice condition. Top surfaces with multiple hail dents-- see photos. There are some dents on the driver's side roof that did not show up well in the photographs. Interior: Very Good with only minor imperfections adjusting for age. There are small cracks by the windshield vents, I suspect again due to the moisture exposure after the storm. Engine: Everything works. No known issues per recent inspection by Mazda. Tires: The car came with Sumhoto tires, which I promptly replaced with a $900 set of Bridgestone Potenza RE-11's. The tires dramatically improved handling and are new new with only 800 miles on them. Reason for selling: This is my "nanny car". Every summer my wife gets a summertime nanny. In return, I get something fun to drive while the nanny takes over the kid taxiing. As much as I love the driver oriented cockpit, sublime handling, and acceleration, I only have so much garage space. Winters are nasty in Northern Montana, and I'd rather have my Bobcat A300 skid steer warm and toasty. I have an NSX up on next years "nanny" trade-- so, time for this RX7 to find a good home. As the Rx was a pleasure driver, I only managed to accumulate 800 miles over the summer. Misc. FAQs: I intended to replace the stereo, but enjoyed the exhaust note so much with the twin turbo that I never got around to it-. I did consider replacing the roof and repainting. The local quote was around $1600, however I would have lost 2-3 weeks driving time, and I had already put $1250 into the Mazda service (windshield, window boots/seals, engine oil gage, etc.) and $900 for the new tires. Wife reminded me that it is "a one summer nanny car". Extras: I have a spoiler (see photo) which will come with the car. (see photo). I have 2 keys (only one shown in photo) Photos: Please note that most of the spots shown on the front of the car are grade A Montana bugs (included). Summary: Nearly stock, low mileage car-- likely one of the "youngest" RX7's on the road (was built 12/95, and purchased 2/96) making it likely one of the very last of only 500 or so imported in it's last year in the U.S. The interior is very nice for its age, and the engine pulls strongly up to speeds best not mentioned. She drives smoothly even at speed, tracks great, and corners with poise. In short-- a bit rough on the outside, but in great condition where it counts, and a pleasure to drive. Car is now listed as NO RESERVE. To potential buyers: kindly be appraised that I may not to respond to silly offers. I am happy to respond to serious questions. Bids are a good way to let me know you're interested. If qualifying bids have not been received within 12 hours prior to auction close, I reserve the right to terminate the auction and buy a set of snow tires. After auction offers will not be considered. Thank you~
