Up for bid is a 2002 kia optima that would make a good second or winter car but needs work done. I bought this Kia in 2007 and it has seen better days. The car has been in three situations - the first was an accident and this car was the second hit during the accident - after that accident the rear bumper was replaced and the car looked new. However last year someone decided to be funny and vandelize our house and car. This kia was in the driveway and someone poored red paint over it and paint remover. As you can see by the pictures this car was repainted with cans and the paint is spotty (you can notice much more in the summer and less in the winter when its darker out). I did not want to repaint the car professionally because it would have cost more than the car was worth , therefore my father in law did his best. The car will take a few more washes to get the red paint off the windows (but it has come off little by little) - the third situation was the car was bumped with another car in my driveway and has dents in it (please see pics). The miles are around 135 I did not look at this exactly. Mechanically the car is better. The known issues are a very slow power steering leak (fill up every 3 months or so), a sqeaking noise that comes from brake area (noise stops when brake applied), a bit of shaking when car first turned on. The heater and AC work and the cars transmission shifts great and engine is strong. I have driven this car 45 miles to work each way for about a year with little to no problems. I recently put used tires on it. The cruise control works. With a few hundred bucks mechically this car will last a long time yet and get you through the winter. The car needs those minor things looked at (brakes, shaking, and sqeaking noise) but should do you well. Overall please look at the pictures, the cars exterior is rough but it runs well. I have been as honest as can be. I am not expecting a ton of money for this car but please bid for a final sale - I do not want to hassle back and forth so I just need you to know that this car is far from perfect but the final bid is the final bid Other minor things wrong (your choice to fix) Electronic power rear view mirrors do not work (you need to adjust by hand) The center console broke but i still place cover over it (see pic) Car may need brake work soon The Trunk needs to be pushed down a bit when opened Radio skips from time to time if hard pump hit (probably loose radio wiring) Interior has stains (car is 11 years old and I have kids!) Once more exterior paint is botchy and streaks can be seen or spots see pictures Needs brake cap (the little plastic cap - $5 bucks at junkyard) Some trimming has come off Gas flap opens with very hard bump (not all the time) May need wheel bearing or rear ball joints (noise comes from back when bumps hit) I've tried to list all I can but this description should give you a clear idea of the car. It is not new and has seen better days. I believe however it is dependable and it has been my daily drive with nice ac and heat and overall a smooth ride for the price this auction will probably end in. I am posting this on a Monday night for 5 days so that I can sell by the weekend (too many cars in the driveway wife says must go) please note that I am very busy in the week so this auction ends Saturday night and car must be picked up Sunday. There is a notary in my area or we can just sign the title over to you. I will need a $100 non-refundable deposit Saturday night once this auction ends to know you are a serious buyer. I just happened to find a very good deal on another car so this one must go. If I would not have found the other car this would continue to be my daily driver that I confide in.
