1978 Pontiac Trans Am Up for auction is a 1978 Pontiac Trans Am. The car's restoration was just completed. The car was soda blasted to bare metal and then was painted black and treated to S/E graphics. The weather stripping was replaced. The motor was upgraded to a completely rebuilt 1969 330 horse power 400. The transmission is a 1969 turbo 400 that was rebuilt at the same time. All of the accessories on the front of the motor are new as well. The radiator is a 4 row brass unit and the water pump and thermostat are heavy duty units for excellent cooling. A new set of Hooker headers were installed and a 2 1/2" true dual exhaust system with magnaflow mufflers and stainless steel splitters were installed at the same time. A mini starter was installed as well as sub frame connectors. The battery is a Delco 78 series unit and the battery cables are reproductions from American Auto Wire. The steering box is a new quick ratio unit and the shocks are Bilstine's. The rear sway bar is the larger 3/4" unit. The gas tank and fuel lines were replaced as well. The wheels were sand blasted, then painted and then machined as that were originally done at the factory. The tires are new BF Goodrich TA radials and the caps and lug nuts are new. The heater core evaporator and blower motor were replaced for years of trouble free service. The seats were recovered with units from Classic industries and the carpet, head liner, package tray, pedal covers, vents, lock knobs, and door sils are new also. The interior plastic was re dyed and a dash cap added. The stereo is a Pioneer AM/FM/CD with I pod hook up. The speakers are 6" X 9" pioneer's. The odometer on the car reads 34K but the title states it is not actual mileage. The car still has alot of the original under body primer and it it a rust free car.
