This is the first year of Mercury. It is an all steel car. The body work is done and the car is ready for final wet sanding and paint. If you've always wanted a street rod but could not afford to build one from scratch, this is the car for you. The only thing left to do on this car is paint and upholstery. The motor and tranny are both fresh rebuilds with zero miles on them. It is a 351 windsor with aluminum heads, a stealth aluminum intake, edelbrock 650 carb and mild cam. The motor and tranny is professionally built for highway travel . The tranny is a fresh built AOD. This is a frame off restoration with a Fatman chassis mustang II front suspension and 2001 ford explorer 8.8 rearend 373 gears, positrac w/big bearing disk brakes. Four wheel disk brakes. The investment to date is in excess of $15k. The parts are too many to list, though you can be sure that everything is of top quality. The motor has not been fired. The car has not been wired but an EZ Wire Harness is included. If you'd like to see more pics just let me know what you'd like to see. All sheet metal has been sandblasted, acid dipped and prepped for paint. The frame has been sandblasted, boxed and painted. The drive train and undercarriage is complete minus the driveshaft. The gas tank is new and all fuel lines are braided steel and installed. The battery is located in the trunk of the car and the battery cables have been installed. The brake plumbing is installed with the power brake booster located on the firewall and proportioning valve under the car. The firewall has been smoothed and painted black. The inner fenders have been treated to undercoating as well as the entire cab both inside and out. The rear lights are l.e.d. and are included in the purchase as well as the glass front headlight lenses. The door handles have been shaved and electric door poppers installed. The trunk and gas door are cable operated. The 39 Mercury Sedan though similar in body style as the 39-40 ford sedan, the 39 Mercury sedan has a longer wheel base and is approximately five inches wider. This is a truly gorgeous street rod project. The car is also being advertised locally as well. The owner is a motivated seller. The wife wants a new kitchen.
