Vehicle Detail
You are viewing a 1992 Olds Cutlass Ciera. This is the basic Ciera model. The car is a retired business vehicle resulting in mostly highway miles. There are no structural issues with the car, frame or body, but several cosmetic issues representative of it's age and mileage. The hood and trunk are oxidized and have scratches and nicks; 2 fins are broken out of the driver's side front grill; both door handles, in and out are broken on front passenger side; inside door handle is broken on front driver side; driver side back door pwr. window does not work; passenger front pwr. window is initermittent; air conditioning system needs a line replaced; winshield is badly cracked but intact; the car has dual door mirrors and the adjustment for the driver side is broken and must be set by hand. We have owned the car for 12 years. It was purchased off a lot in Kalispell Montana with 112,000 miles on it. Virtually every external, mechanical part has been replaced in the last 80,000 miles. Recent replacements include: plugs and wires, new harmonic balancer, battery, exhaust pipe from converter back along with glass pack muffler, and more. The car has been entirely smoke free. The interior of the car still looks above average for a car it's age..no dash cracks, and the driver's seat has lost most of it's cushioning (flattened with time)but there are no rips or tears aside from piping starting to loosen on driver's seat. The car's original owner chose the factory optional 3.3 V6 engine. We bought the car primarily on the reputation of that being a "bullet-proof" engine, And it has certainly lived up to it's reputation. It still does not burn any noticeable oil(does have the usual minor oil leaks), and still accelerates quickly and crisply. We have gotten 30 mpg when driving 60. The car is still running but can't be trusted until the present problem, which by diagnostic test is said to be a tired computer which is not putting out enough voltage for the throttle position sensor, is addressed. The car perceivably has somewhat of a potential running life left if this problem is corrected. At the very least, their is still a strong useable engine and lots of spare parts. Oil changes were religiously done every 2,000-3,000 miles, which I contribute to the long life this has had for an American car. Tires are roughly about 40-50% tread wear. The transmission, as far as I know, is the original. It shows no signs of slipping or other tranny abnormalities. The title is clear and the plates expire 8-31-2012. The car must be picked up and /or transported by the buyer at the buyer's expense. The title is clear and the plates expire 8-31-2012.
