Vehicle Detail

1967 Oldsmobile 442 ( 2 Door Sport Coupe) TurnpikeCrusier option-425/365 HP V8 Engine I have an antiquity company in the middle of Texas. We specialize in fine antiques and collectibles. Once in a while my customers turn in a classic automobile or motorcycle. This is one of those items: One of our customers in San Antonio, Texas, had this 442 in his garage since 1998. He decided to finally restore the car. Our friend spent quite a bit of money bringing the car up to date, but his boss (his wife) found out about all the bills and told him that it was time to let the car go. This is a true 442 Sports Coupe with a V-8 engine and an automatic transmission. It is Texas car with a clear Texas title. The car was sent out to a mechanic and the following was done: The gas tank was removed and cleaned. They changed all the fluids. They replaced the fuel hoses. They replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter They replaced the plugs, points, condensers and caps. They replaced the plug wires. They overhauled the carburetor. They replaced the rear wheel cylinder and brake shoes. They replaced the front shoes and wheel cylinder. After all of the above was done, the car came to life and runs fantastic. Next the car was sent to the paint shop for a complete paint job. Then the car got new carpet and new front seat covers. Now it looks beautiful, it runs fantastic, and it is ready for a new owner. All the receipts for the mechanical, interior, and cosmetic paint job will go to the new owner. All of the above restoration was done in the last 7 months. The car is absolutely beautiful, but please remember that it is not a 100 point car. It is a beautiful car to drive and enjoy, and take to a car show. The tires are the only thing on the car that has not been changed yet. They are probably from 1998. The most beautiful things about this car is the engine and the transmission they work fantastic. Please come and see it in person. We can deliver to a reasonable distance in Texas for a reasonable cost. All the inspections must be done before the auction closes. Remember that this classic car is 45 years old. Please remember that things always look better in pictures. So you are more than welcome to come see it in person. Your bid is your contract. Please place bids only if you are serious about buying the item. If you are the winning bid, you are entering into a legal binding contract to purchase the item. We require a $300 non-refundable deposit immediately after the bidding closes, and the remaining balance within a week. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. The car will be sold as is, with no warranty or guarantee. For pricing regarding classical automobiles/bikes you can refer to www.nadaguides.com We reserve the right to cancel any bid for excessive negative feedback. And I may also advertise it locally. GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN On Oct-07-12 at 03:07:03 PDT, seller added the following information: Dear Snefaro, It was nice talking to you. You have done a good job searching your first 442 on your own. You are right about the turnpike cruiser option. According to the VIN the car does have the Turnpike Cruiser Option which is number 3807 in the VIN. I know that you told me you got the engine size from NADA, but the NADA engine option might not be sufficient enough. The engine might be 400 so you might have to send the engine number out to verify. Thanks for all the info Bob.I am still learning!!!! Respectfully, SnefaroOn Oct-07-12 at 08:43:26 PDT, seller added the following information: If you want to check the TurnpikeCruiser option for my 1967 2dr. Sport Coupe 442 Here is : the VIN# 338077M165034 And here is the site: 1967 Oldsmobile Vehicle Identification Numbers (vin) www.tpocr.com/oldsvin5.htmlCached You +1'd this publicly. Undo 1967 Oldsmobile vehicle identification number (vin) decoder. ... Club Coupe 442 option, On Oct-07-12 at 09:24:18 PDT, seller added the following information: Now we know that it is the original engine and it is 400cu. (we send the engine number out to be checked) Snefaro, The engine in the 442 is a 400 cu. in not a 425. Can you tell me about what you are looking to get for the 442? On Oct 7, 2012, at 10:14 AM
