Vehicle Detail
1983 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight Regency Brougham Other than damage to left doors, in good shape overall. Brakes overhauled all around with new lines, rubber hoses, calipers, wheel cylinders, pads and shoes. New valve cover gaskets, belts, plugs and wires, sensors and hoses on engine. New exhaust and rear filler panel. Newer radiator and rear springs. GM Delco parts were used whenever possible for quality. Interior very clean but has sun damage to tops of door panels and split seam on driver's seat where zipper is (by center armrest). A/C was converted to 134a by previous owner but needs a recharge. New sway bar end links and tie rod ends, has excellent steering. New headliner. I spent a great deal of time and money fixing this car up. A lot of detailing was done to it such as painting the frame rails and reapplying seam sealer/undercoating where needed in rear wheelwells and under the car. I also applied new emblems and pinstriping to the exterior. Grille is NOS as is the emblem, hood ornament and spear. I'm selling as I don't feel like dealing with replacing the doors due to the damage. The body itself is fine however other than a nick on the c-pillar by the fender skirt. It's a good deal for someone who is knows of a salvage yard nearby. Replace all four and 90% of the car's rust damage is eliminated. Car is drivable but carb could use a rebuild as at a stop you need to keep your foot on the gas a bit to keep the idle up (weak accelerator pump). Engine runs good, no blowby on startup, no knocks. There is a minor exhaust leak you can hear from the crossover pipe "donut" on the left side. Transmission was replaced at some point with a TH-350 (originally had a 4 speed overdrive)and needs new kickdown cable as it's frozen. Still moves the car fine however. Front tires are good, rears could use replacing. Interior is exceptionally clean as I dismantled it and soaped down the seats and carpet. Headliner is new. Only visible wear is to the tops of the door panels with sun damage, and the cracked left armrest. Equipped with: AM/FM Cassette ETR, trailer hitch, cornering lights, map light, six-way power seats, reclining passenger's seat, vanity mirror, power windows, power brakes, power locks, power antenna (doesn't work), power trunk release, cruise (needs wire for lever hooked up), tilt and the usual ps, pb, etc NOTE: If you cannot make a deposit of $300 within 48 hours of auction end do not bid. If you can't pick up the car within 2 weeks maximum do not bid. Thank you.
