I bought newer Chevy Duramax after I hit on a lottery ticket. This 1984 GMC Jimmy with 6.5diesel 7-1-06 at 147,400 miles it has 247,138(use to have a 6.2) in 2006. I used the vehicle to go back and forth to Mexico to my other home. This naturally aspirated diesel gets 19mph and 22mph.New tires on August 28,09 and have about 24 thousand miles on them. Batteries 2 yrs old .No leaks, no squeak, just a lot of fun. The Jimmy is great but should not be going back and forth to Mexico. If I were here more I would keep it but the reality it would be parked for 6-8 months a year. Flowmaster exhaust system.Looks great drives better and is true America metal going down the road or off road. Please be serious if you come with the intent to find fault or dicker ??????????The vehicle has been well maintained and had numerous upgrades, as I like to tinker. The fuel system. Stanadyne in line glass bowl prime able filter system and new o-rings on the factory filter. Always ran Stanadyne performance additive with every tank. Motor. K&N air cleaner. Used Amsoil synthetic oil and filters, new glow plug last year. When I bought it changed to double reduction starter (for less pull). Up dated 120-amp alternator,Steering and drive train: Passenger side lower ball joint 232,507 10-22-07.Steering box (small leak effected power boost). Transmission was rebuilt the last year do to faulty repair 3 year prior, at that time went to full synthetic in transmission and transfer case, the rear end had a noise 3 weeks ago reset bearings and pinion and synthetic fluid (my friends said sell it as is and I said hell no). Replaced the seals in the transfer case, new yoke and u-joints when I got it. Rebuilt the calipers, and new front brake pads and brake lines 244953 3-13-12 this was do to a bad rubber line that caused drag on right front disk brake. Replaced the limited slip front hubs to Warner locking hubs (metal not plastic)Cooling system: Flushed every to years, new thermostat and housing 233,769 2-10-10 (replaced the housing but it was not necessary, but was worried it might be cracked it was just a leak). Replaced lines on air conditioner and recharged in April this year. I put on all new hoses 223,173 10-21-09 and new fan belts every 2 years (just as a precaution). Body of vehicle: painted it back to factory original. Replaced all chrome and exterior markings to full original (this includes the grill, back brush steel and more). Painted the wheel wells with epoxy resin anti corrosive paint. Front and back steel pipe bumpers with front winch deck (see photo's) tow receiver and control. Aluminum steps, diamond plate Mud flaps, and a lot more.Doors, locks, alarm and chassis: Alarm with automatic door locks, battery brake down anti theft switch, All door switches replaced, front doors R&R. new locks, rear door completely redone (elevators, motors, guides, cables, and carry extra cable as not available in Mexico. Seats recovered, installed electric driver side seat, new door& dash panels, new dash circuit board & brushed aluminum dash, transmission temp gauge, new headliner, carpet kit, insulator pad,All new door gaskets and hinges (tight and does not leak)Stereo with cd and 1/4 in put for xm or other and much more. I also carry when traveling a new water pump, new fuel pump, extra fuel and oil filters, and new extra set of belts, extra set of hoses, GMC shop manual .all original books from when it was new.extra alternator Any and all travel parts and books go with sale
