Vehicle Detail

Very nice original 1979 Triumph 750 T140 E.This is a matching numbers bike. In sound running condition, this is a great bike for a person switching over to vintage Brit bikes, as it has shifter on the left and rear brake on the right! Seems to have low miles- I cannot vouch for the 1982 miles shown on the odometer as being correct, but the rest of the bike seems low mileage as well. Speedometer and tachometer are both in working order. This bike is very correct, it is missing only a few items listed further below. It is in running order, with factory electronic ignition, it has a 5 speed transmission, the paint is original, Over all a clean and tidy bike, it does have sings of oil leakage at the rocker box spindle ends, and a faint trace at the cylinder head joint.I have checked over the wiring, all things are good except the turn signals and a bad filament on the low beam. I was quite surprised when I opened the headlight bucket, minimal rust and the connectors were all quite tight! It is registered in California til March of 2013, title is signed over to me but I have not taken it down to DMV for transfer yet. I will provide a bill of sale as well as title when purchased. To keep it fair, the bad that I am aware of consists of : missing chainguard, rear fender grab rail / stay that mounts under the taillight, and the underside of the fuel tank support strap. Tires are older and have sidewall cracking, headlight bulb works only on high and needs replaced - the electrical is fine, it IS just the bulb, front turns signals are missing, rear ones light but do not flash, and the front brakelight switch does not work. Obviously the seat and the mufflers are not original either. Other than these minor flaws, it seems to be quite original. Paint on the tank is factory original, the silver has faded/ been polished off as has some of the hand done factory pinstriping. There is also a small dent on the left silver scallop, this will easier pop back out; it's quite shallow. The black is also faded. I hate to repaint it as of now, but if you choose to, the original lines for the scallops and pinstripe are there and worth photographing prior to your repaint. I know it could also use further tuning, I have it running and ride it, but have not had the time recently to give it a full tune up. Please ask any further questions prior to bidding. All sales are final, and winning bidder needs to make a deposit of $500 through Paypal upon auction end, with 14 days for final payment and pickup. Sorry, I am unable to deliver as I have no car or truck, but will work with your shipper to arrange pickup upon payment in full of purchase price. I may list this bike locally, and may cancel the auction prior to it's end. There is no reserve, my starting price is the bottom dollar. As previously stated, this is a great bike for the beginning British Enthusiast. Some of the best features are rolled into one bike, like the five speed transmission, the front and rear disc brakes, and for those of you familiar with Japanese bikes, the shift lever and brakes are on the side you'd expect them to be! A sound Triumph needing mostly cosmetics, this is one bike worth investing in!
