Vehicle Detail
: 1968 LeMans, 350v8, 2 barrell, 2 speed automatic on the column, 2 door hardtop, bucket seats, power steering & brakes, factory air conditioning, Aleutian Blue, black vinyl roof, black interior. One owner since new until we got it, have original owner's manual, warranty booklet, good title that shows 41, 000 miles (Delaware), car has not been used since 1991. Car originally purchased at the legendary Union Park Pontiac dealership in Wilmington Del and has remained in Wilmington it's entire life. Owner had to let go of this car which was his pride and joy since new because he is now in a nursing home. He was a DuPont executive and this was his first new car. Condition of engine: Engine has been cleaned and partially detailed, has 2 barrel carburetor, 350V8 Carburetor should be rebuilt but recommend swap over to 4 barrel option for better performance, Heater core is bypassed and needs to be replaced, A/C is all there but does not blow cold. Engine is 100% unmodified, components appearance is consistent with the low miles. Body: all panels appear to be original, no evidence of any significant collision damage, front fenders and doors line up nicely, doors close like a new car. Paint & Body: car has been repainted, looks like many years ago, the top surfaces are faded, the sides look like more recent paint. This is the original color. Left front fender excellent, left door good, left rear quarter panel is blistering at the bottom by the rocker in front of wheel well and over the wheel arch/well moulding. Behind the wheel all looks good. The right front fender looks like had some repair done on the bottom at the rocker panel, the right door looks like it had some dent repair done and the repaired area can be detected. The right rear quarter panel looks like it also had some dent repair done towards the back bumper like it had backed into something long ago and as if they scraped the side of their garage. The rear quarter is solid behind the wheel and blistering on the bottoms by the rocker moulding. We have detailed photos of all areas. The hood is good, the trunk lid is good, getting thin on the inside edge above the bumper. The trunk floor has two sections that need repair, one is on the left side just below the trunk hinge, the other is under the spare tire. Both areas are hidden by the the trunk mat. The spare wheel and tire are present, as are the jack & tools. The vinyl roof is original and good condition, it is slighly dry-cracked. The rear window has been sealed as is typical of this body. The glass is good, there is a chip in the windshield, car has tinted glass all around. There are numerous small dents in the car that a "dent-wizard" dent removal can take care of without any additional bodywork.. The front bumper is good and straight, chrome is peeling in certain areas, the lower valance is good, both front park lights have cracks in housings, grilles are good, car still has two of it's original T3 headlights. The rear bumper shines nicely, the left taillight has cracks in it. The undercarriage is good and clean, gas tank is good, the exhaust system is a single exhaust and should be replaced. We recommend replace with dual exhaust system. The tires look new but are actually 20 plus year old bias ply, the wheels and wheel covers are original and good condition. Interior: Shows wear consistent with low miles, steering wheel is excellent, headliner and door panels are real nice. The dash pad has the usual cracks in it, the radio has been replaced with an aftermarket system along with rear speakers in the shelf. the driver seat has a cut in the left backrest , left panel. The passenger seat has a hole in around the size of a dime. The carpet and pedals are original, the carpet has dried out and split under the driver floor mat. The above description is very honest and critical so that there are no misunderstandings about the actual condition of the car. This car is an unmolested, never restored, low mileage, one owner , very desireable model and highly collectible. It has been "fixed" up over the years by local mechanics. The asking price we believe to be fair for the actual condition of desireability of this car. With minimal work this car can be driveable and as is would be a nice starter collector car and cruise night vehicle. This car also would be a great starting point for a high point restoration as it is complete and unmodified. Nice color and option combination and easy car to get parts for since it shares most of it's parts with the GTO. You would not lose either way. The price should allow for enough bring car to show condition and maintain it's value. Thanks note- CAR IS ALSO LISTED FOR SALE LOCALLY AND WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL AUCTION AT ANY TIME AS LONG AS CAR HAS NOT MET RESERVE PRICE CAR IS LOCATED IN LANDENBERG, PENNSYLVANIA, WE ARE CLOSE TO WILMINGTON & NEWARK DELAWARE, KENNETT SQUARE , PENNSYLVANIA, ABOUT 45 MINUTES FROM PHILADELPHIA, ONE HOUR FROM BALTIMORE I WOULD CONSIDER DELIVERY ON MY TRAILER DEPENDING UPON DESTINATION FOR REASONABLE COST DELI
