Up for auction is my 1981 Toyota Diesel Pickup 5spd manual. It is NOT currently running and will need work to be operable, so it must be trailered. I originally bought the truck to get great gas mileage and because one person owned it for about 28 years so it was taken care of and always maintained correctly and has original paint, hub caps, decals, etc seen in the pics. As you can see, the engine is SUPER clean and great care was taken to replace all the gaskets from the head up (ALL OEM parts and Timing Belt as well from the dealership $500)and seals/gaskets sourced from Australia as they are the best source for parts as they have many toyota diesels on the road. To get it running, the main thing it needs is injection pump timing because the IP was just rebuilt ($1100) and installed but not timed. I got a quote from a local diesel shop for a few hundred dollars. The truck does have $350 in ca dmv registration due and I have a clear title and an incomplete transfer slip from the DMV until this is paid. The 5spd transmission was rebuilt within the last 2,000 miles ($950)and shifts and works perfectly. Also, the injectors were rebuilt ($400) with new nozzles and full rebuild. All the diesel parts were taken to Santa Rosa Diesel to be rebuilt and had new seals, etc. in the inj pump and new tips/nozzles on the injectors. I have set the reserve far below what I have in it and have receipts for many parts, etc. This is a great deal on a diesel Toyota pickup that are very hard to find and needs very little work to get back on the road or convert to biodiesel (was my eventual plan), but must be trailered, so please don't ask if you can drive it home. Vehicle must be picked up within 7 days of auction's end, sold as is. $500 deposit due via paypal 24 hrs after auction end and remaining balance due in cash upon pickup. On Oct-06-12 at 16:30:36 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention that the head was pulled and inspected for cracks and resurfaced as well as new valves, rocker arms, and springs installed by Selby and Sons machine of Santa Rosa. Also included with the truck is a hitch for towing. The guy I bought the truck off of had it professionally installed and used it to tow the pickup often for trips. It will still need to be towed due to registration. I have just uploaded pictures of the towing hitch.
