Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1955 Chevy Pro Street/Race Car Project. Originally this vehicle was a rare 1955 150 V8 3-Speed model (Clutch Pedal Assembly still in car). This ’55 Chevy has been a race car for the last 25 + years and was originally built sometime in the ‘80s by previous owners. Below I will describe in detail all aspects of the car, see pictures for more details. If you have any additional questions regarding this ’55 Chevy, please feel free to email me. This vehicle is being sold AS IS, where is with no warranty, expressed, written or implied. The Seller has the responsible for authenticity, genuineness or defects here in and makes no warranty in connection there with. No allowance made on account of any incorrectness, imperfection defect or damage. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have thoroughly inspected the vehicle and satisfied him/herself as to the condition of the vehicle PRIOR to bidding. PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU DON’T INTEND TO COMPLETE THE PURCHASE. Feel free to e-mail me with any questions PRIOR to bidding. A $1000.00 deposit is due within 24 hours after the close of auction. Vehicle and Title will not be released until payment is made in full and cleared. Winning bidder is responsible for ALL vehicle transportation, costs and arrangements. Vehicle may be for sale in other publications and owner reserves the right to end the auction at any time. Title – As you can see this car has a chopped top and the original Vin Plate was removed years ago by previous owners. I purchased the vehicle with a Bill of Sale but now have a NEW Arizona Vin Number and NEW CLEAR Arizona Title (Bond) for the car. Exterior – The body on this ’55 is super straight with minimum body work needed to prepare for paint. Roof has been “Chopped” approximately 3 inches. The front fenders are MINT and the hood is GREAT shape along with radiator splash pans. You get (2) options for the rear trunk lid. I have a factory outer skin left over from when it was a Race Car that is held on with hood pins. At one time there was a huge spoiler mounted on this rear trunk lid that I removed and started to weld in the mounting holes. And I have an original full trunk deck lid that is in GREAT shape, body work has been started on it as well (see pictures below). Has new Stainless Steel Grill and Grill modlings. There is a small dime size rust spot on lower right rear fender lip that can easily be repaired. I also have ALL Belair stainless steel trim for car. , Interior – I started removing the old and out dated sheet metal interior to prepare for a rebuild on this car. There are no seats for this vehicle. With this being an old race car, the Inner Window Regulators have been removed and inside door panels have aluminum panel on them. All of the windows are Lexan and have been in the car a very long time. You can try and buff the Lexan windows out but you will probably find it easier to just replace with new Lexan. Vehicle has original B & M Quick Click Shifter for Turbo 350/400, original Sun Super Tac 0 – 10,000 rpm (I also have a brand new Sun Super Tac in the original packaging). The Dash has not been cut up like most Tri-5’s and I’ve been acquiring most of the original dash components to return back to original including the factory push button radio, bezel and knobs. The Ash Tray and Glove Box have been sanded and primered. There is a 12-point roll cage in the right now. Engine and Transmission – This vehicle does not come with either a motor or transmission. Being an old race car, engine has been set back 4” with custom motor mounts for either a small block or big block motor. I do have a BRAND NEW set of Ceramic Coated Patriot Big Block Chevy Long Tube Headers that go with vehicle. Tires & Wheels – Front wheels are Weld Racing 15” x 4” with Mickey Thompson Sportsman 26” x 7.50" – 15" tires that are in good shape. The rear wheels are Weld Racing 15” x 14” with Mickey Thompson Sportsman 31” x 18.5” – 15" tires that are in good shape. Suspension and Brakes – Vehicle is equipped with factory front suspension and 4-wheel drum brakes. Rear suspension has custom made 48” ladder bars and a narrowed Ford 9” Rear End with a full spool, 4:56 gears and Moser Racing 31 spline axles. Both front and rear have extended wheel studs. Chassis – With the purchase of this 1955 Chevy I am including another COMPLETE rolling 1955 Chevy Chassis with a factory rear end (sorry, non-posi-traction) and 4-wheel drum brakes. This chassis is in great shape and includes the Camaro wheels you see mounted. My thought is it would be easier to start over with a stock frame and install a new rear 4-link frame kit then it would be to cut and grind the old frame. I planned on going with another Ford 9” rear end and a Chris Alston 4-Link Frame & Roll Cage so you could just lift the body up & over the old chassis and roll cage and onto the new. When completed, you could always sell the old rolling chassis to someone building a “Rat Rod” or “Hot Rod”. I WILL NOT SELL THIS ROLLING FRAME SEPARATE, BUT WOULD SELL CAR LESS THIS ADDITIONAL ROLLING FRAME if that works better for you. Miscellaneous – I have lots of parts that go with purchase of this vehicle and NO I am not interested in selling any of these parts separate. See group photos, most items are in good driver useable condition or better. I have (2) sets of the rear paint divider body moldings, upper paint dividers, (2) accessory gas tank door guards, original door handles both inside and outside, both hood and trunk emblems with bezels, new under tail light V8 emblems, original and new aftermarket front parking light housing assemblies, original rear tail light housing assemblies, misc new and used headlight bezels, bucket, wiring harness, gaskets and seals, replacement headlights, Original Cowl Vent, right side only inner front wheel well, Included also is a 3-Gallon Harwood Fuel Cell.
