1960 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud. This is the desirable Mark II, which was the first year for the more powerful V-8 yet retained the better looking single headlights. This vehicle has been parked in an enclosed storage facility sence 1993. It was in fine running condition at that time, but has not been run the whole time it was in storage. It will need a person sympathetic to Rolls Royce to re-awaken this sleeping beauty. A partial list of work needed will include a total brake overhaul. There is no brake fluid in the master cylinder, and all four brake drums are locked up. I imagine the fuel system from tank to carburetors will need to be cleaned and rebuilt as well as the ignition system and cooling system. There is some evidence mice have chewed some of the wiring in the engine bay, and have fouled the headliner. There is a crack in the windshield which can probably be repaired. The good news is that engine can be turned by hand, and that there is very little corrosion on the body. The vehicle had been painted not long before it was stored, and has held up reasonably well, with some minor bubbling and scuffs. The underside looks good, but it should be cleaned of surface rust scale and re-sealed. There is a repair to the underside of the drivers side rocker which is only visible under the vehicle. The bumpers were re-chromed at the time of repainting, and they look good. The hood ornament and polished radiator are very nice. The interior shows nicely. The leather is intact, with the seat portion replaced at some point in the front. The armrests fold properly. The wood is all present. The areas under the front window should be refinished. Both writing tables are in good condition. The carpet is blue wool and is in good condition. The headliner will need to be removed and cleaned or replaced due to what I assume is a mouse nest. All windows and doors function properly. This Silver Cloud is a great oppunity for a classic car afficianado to revive a vintage Rolls with far less fuss then the later models due to its mechanical simplicity. Please remember that this is a non-running project and will need mechanical work before it can be driven. This vehicle will be sold with a Bill of Sale. Maine does not issue titles on older vehicles.
