Vehicle Detail
Overview: This is a 1972 Honda CB500 Four that is in great condition for being 40 years old. It is all original. I purchased it from the original owner and have the title. Those who appreciate a vintage bike, really dig this and its excellent condition. I purchased this bike to ride with my lady, but we don't ride any more. I maybe have put 500 miles on it and have owned it for several years. Only taken out in the summer and garage kept on a battery tender.During winter storage (October - May), Ive used Sta-bil with a half gallon of premium gas in the tank. Before every half gallon fill up I used Spectro fuel stabilizer (as recommended by the local Honda dealership). Oil has been changed before winter storage (October) and at beginning of summer (May). Since I only ride it a few times a year, I changed the oil and filter once over the summer (July).Ive seen other CB 500 Four bike on Ebay and Craigslist sell for well over $3000. This bike is priced to sell. The tires are new and have 500 miles on them. All the electronics work. All signals and lights. There are just a few minor nicks/scratches as it is 40 years old. There are 2 slits in the seat, but that can be fixed. One of the gauges has some paint cracking internally (see photo), but that is typical for the year. The carbs probably need to be cleaned ($200 to have a certified expert do it) that is why the reserve is low. That is the only negative thing I can think of or know about for this panty dropper. All four exhaust pipes are in remarkably excellent condition - there is no rust at all, just a few very minor surface blemishes that are barely noticeable. An all-original 4 into 4 exhaust in excellent condition is increasingly rare and very valuable. The exhaust alone would fetch around $1,000 - $1,100 in this condition, which was also stated in another Ebay auction, but those that know, it is the truth. This bike has NOT sat in a showroom, or in a barn. It has been used (lightly) and fires right up. It is meant to be ridden! Work Done: The tires are new (Bridgestone)New batteryFresh Oil and Oil Filter I am not a motorcycle guy or know my way completely around a bike. This bike looks good and rides well. Please email me with any questions. I have tried to provide as complete and accurate a description as possible, but please bear in mind that this is a used, vintage motorcycle so it is offered as is and without warranty. A $300 deposit is due within 24 hours of winning the auction via PayPal. Please contact me to arrange final payment of the balance due - payment must be received within three (3) days of the close of the auction. I can accept a credit card (by using Square) and will split the difference in the fees (2.75% needs to be split so add 1.38% to the winning bid). Given the risk of fraud, cash is the preferred method of payment, but a bank/cashier's check will also be acceptable under the following terms: Buyer will have to wait up to two calendar weeks (10 business days) to ensure the check is legitimate and formally clears the deposit before the bike will be released to the buyer (or his/her shipping agent). If you wish to pay the full balance via PayPal, please be advised that you will have to add 3% to the final price to cover the transaction fee that they charge. Buyer is responsible for organizing and paying for any shipping services. I will coordinate with either the buyer or the buyer's shipping agent, should there be one, to arrange pick-up of the bike as necessary. The bike is also being advertised for sale locally, and as such, I reserve the right to end the auction early at any time.
